Early on in training camp, Stacy saw most of the work with the Rams' first-team offense, ESPN.com reports.

Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer suggested that the likes of Benny Cunningham, Tre Mason and Isaiah Pead will have an opportunity to push Stacy, the team's incumbent starter, for carries, ESPN.com reports. "We’re just trying to create competition," Schottenheimer noted. "(Quarterback) Sam Bradford is going to compete. That’s what we’re trying to do and whoever wins the job, wins the job. But I expect to see multiple guys carry the football."

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

"Zac’s obviously a really, really good player, but we're going to create competition for all the guys," according to Schottenheimer. Given his strong showing last season, Stacy remains the frontrunner to head the Rams' rushing attack, but the team does have enough options in their backfield to avoid overly relying on the second-year back, with Mason -- a third-round draft pick in May -- definitely a player to monitor this summer.
Stacy rushed for 15 yards on 15 carries and caught all four passes thrown his way for 23 yards in Sunday's season finale at Seattle.

Stacy had 33 carries for 104 rushing yards with a touchdown Sunday against the Bucs. He also caught the lone pass thrown his way for five yards and lost a fumble.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

A very solid day for Stacy, with the exception of the fumble. The rookie running back has scored a touchdown in six of his last seven games and is currently on a two-game streak with at least 100 rushing yards. He's has 958 rushing yards on the season and will look to break the 1,000-yard mark, against a Seahawks team that gave up 134 rushing yards to Stacy in Week 8.
Stacy wasn't listed on the Rams' injury report Wednesday.

Rams coach Jeff Fisher said that Stacy is "a little sore this week" and probably won't practice Wednesday.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Although Fisher didn't specify the nature of the issue, Stacy briefly left Sunday's win over the Saints with a hip injury. Stacy will likely show up on this week's injury report, but it doesn't sound like he's in much danger of missing a Week 16 matchup with Tampa Bay. The rookie turned in his third 100-yard rushing performance of the season Sunday, burning the Saints for 133 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries.

2013

A compact running back with good vision and balance, Stacy averaged 5.5 YPC during his final collegiate season, finishing as Vanderbilt's career leader in rushing yards (3,143) and scores (30). At 5-8, 216, the Rams' fifth-round pick provides Jeff Fisher's offense with a downhill runner who will follow his blocks well and rarely go down at first contact. Outside speed backs Isaiah Pead and Daryl Richardson will receive carries, but after losing Steven Jackson in free agency, the Rams need a between-the-tackles runner. Stacy is the likeliest candidate to fill that role and could also emerge as the goal-line option.
