McLaughlin (head) had 76 carries for 410 yards and one touchdown to go with 31 catches for 160 yards and two touchdowns while appearing in all 17 of the Broncos' games during his rookie season.
ANALYSIS
Carving out playing time wasn't easy in a backfield that also included Javonte Williams and Samaje Perine, but the undrafted McLaughlin racked up at least six touches in 11 of his last 14 games and was on his way to reaching that benchmark again in Week 18 before a head injury knocked him out of the season-ending loss to the Raiders. McLaughlin led the team in yards per carry (5.4), and his strong rookie season could earn him a larger role in 2024 after he recovers from the head injury.

Earning increased role
McLaughlin's workload is expected to continue to grow in Week 18 against the Raiders, Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
McLaughlin was on the field for 18 offensive snaps in Week 17 and earned double-digit touches for the fourth time in the campaign. It's unclear how much more opportunity he'll receive, though Javonte Williams has struggled significantly across the last three games by picking up only 92 yards on 38 carries. With the Broncos clearly turning their attention to the 2024 season, McLaughlin could get tested with a heavy workload.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
McLaughlin, an undrafted rookie from Youngstown State, impressed during training camp with both his play and his dedication to learning the offense. McLaughlin has a solid chance to move up the depth chart behind Javonte Williams and Samaje Perine. It's important to note McLaughlin was also used as a returner, running a kickoff back 44 yards in the contest. The Youngstown State product could therefore also carve out a role on special teams, helping him to secure a roster spot ahead of the 2023 campaign
