2024 Fantasy Outlook
As a rookie in a limited offense, Mingo had a respectable 85 targets in 15 games. With the Carolina receiver group being led by the 33-year-old Adam Thielen, there wasn’t major competition for targets. Unfortunately, Mingo struggled with drops and ended the season catching just 50.6 percent of his passes. The receiver wasn’t very effective with a 40th percentile yards after the catch rate. It’s possible that both Mingo and rookie quarterback Bryce Young were overmatched as rookies. Although there weren’t many positives to take from Mingo’s rookie season, it’s possible we see improvement in his second season. However, after the team added Diontae Johnson and Xavier Legette in the offseason, Mingo may struggle to see consistent snaps. Unless the second-year receiver can push Adam Thielen for work, Mingo may be the No. 4 receiver. Read Past Outlooks

Bumps down depth chart
With the Panthers' selection of Xavier Legette with the No. 32 overall pick Thursday night, Mingo is pushed down the wide receiver depth chart, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Carolina has made it a point to upgrade its wideout room this offseason, first trading for Diontae Johnson before then trading up into the final pick of the first round for Legette. Adding those two to veteran slot man Adam Thielen pushes both Mingo and Terrace Marshall down in the pecking order for targets. Mingo -- who is bouncing back from a late-season foot issue -- started 14 of 15 games he appeared in as a rookie, but he posted an uninspiring 43-418-0 receiving line on 85 targets. He was one of the least productive starting receivers in the league in 2023.

Raiders TE Michael Mayer and Colts WR Adonai Mitchell are two of the many players whose volume projections had to be adjusted downward after the 2024 NFL Draft. RW's Jerry Donabedian breaks it all down.
Most of the big ADP changes can be easily explained, but there are also guys like Isiah Pacheco and Kenneth Walker dropping down the ranks for unclear reasons.
Elijah Mitchell has a 15th-round ADP even though he remains just one Christian McCaffrey injury away from fantasy stardom.
Puka Nacua was the leader of a 2023 rookie class that outperformed expectations, setting the table for a 2024 class that comes with far more hype thanks to mega prospects Marvin Harrison and Malik Nabers.

Top-50 pick per Reuter
Friday's four-round 2023 NFL mock draft from Chad Reuter of NFL.com projects Mingo as the 44th overall pick to Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Mingo hasn't gotten much if any first-round buzz, but Reuter thinks the athletic wide receiver out of Ole Miss could go off the board in the middle of the second round. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Mingo caught 51 passes for 861 yards and five touchdowns as a senior in 2022. If he lands with the Falcons, Mingo -- who ran the 40-yard dash in 4.46 seconds at the NFL Combine -- would compete for a starting role right away in a receiving corps led by 2022 first-round pick Drake London and offseason signee Mack Hollins.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Carolina made Mingo the fifth wide receiver drafted this April, 39th overall, after an impressive showing at the combine moved him up boards. He managed a 4.46 40, 22 bench-press reps, a 129-inch broad jump and 39.5-inch vertical at 6-2, 220. Mingo's college career was less impressive, as he came in as a four-star recruit and got playing time right away but had only 551 receiving yards in his first two seasons. He then broke out at the start of his junior season with a 15-290-3 line his first three games, only to suffer a foot fracture in practice and be held out until the final three games (at which point he did nothing). Mingo came back healthy last year and caught 51 balls for 861 yards and five TDs in 13 games, finishing second in each category to Packers UDFA signing Malik Heath (who ran a 4.64 40). The landing spot in Carolina gives Mingo a shot at a lot of playing time early. None of the WR options are locks for starter snaps, and it helps that the Panthers don't have a dedicated slot specialist, as the rookie mostly played inside at Ole Miss. He also has the size and speed to at least theoretically challenge Adam Thielen, DJ Chark and Terrace Marshall for perimeter snaps in an offense led by coach Frank Reich and QB Bryce Young.
