CFB Waiver Wire: Players to Pick Up Week 11

This article is part of our CFB Waiver Wire series.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC

Dontrell Hilliard, RB, Tulane

Hilliard was the "next man up" Saturday against Cincinnati with Sherman Badie and Lazerick Thompson nursing injuries. Hilliard didn't disappoint, taking 11 carries for 123 yards, nearly doubling the 131 yards he had throughout the season's first seven games. Hilliard's role is unclear and will obviously depend on his teammates' health, but Hilliard warrants a look until the backfield sorts itself out.

Munchie Legaux, QB, Cincinnati

It's been quite a busy season in Cincinnati, with a new player seemingly emerging at quarterback, running back and wide receiver weekly. This week, it's officialy Legaux, who will take over for Gunner Kiel under center until Kiel's ribs heal, at least. It's possible Legaux takes the opportunity and runs with it. And with a game against defenseless East Carolina on deck Nov. 13, Legaux could post huge numbers in a fantasy playoff week.

ATLANTIC COAST

Shadrach Thornton, RB, North Carolina State

Thornton is rapidly gaining trust as a terrific playoff roster stash. He's likely flying way under the radar as he has no more than 54 yards in any of his last four games and has not rushed for a touchdown in that span after scoring seven times in the season's first five games. But Thornton remains the 'Pack's leading rusher, and with a remaining schedule of Georgia Tech, North Carolina and Wake Forest, Thornton gets three defenses that all allow at least 170.6 yards per game rushing.

T.J. Logan, RB, North Carolina

Logan has just 64 carries, 252 yards and a touchdown on the season, but reading the tea leaves a little bit suggest he has to provide stats down the stretch. Freshman Elijah Hood is sidelined by an undisclosed injury, believed to be his knee, and it's rumored Hood could be sidelined for the remainder of the season. "Starter" Romar Morris was arrested for DWI early Sunday morning and was suspended for one game, leaving Logan and Khris Francis as the team's only ball carriers. The Heels' final three games are against Pittsburgh, Duke and North Carolina State, none of which ranks hire than 62nd against the run.

BIG 12

Vincent Testaverde, QB, Texas Tech

Testevarde was a mere flier when this column was initially drafted, but the news Tuesday that the team is prepping him to start in two weeks against Oklahoma makes him a more worthy selection. Given the off week, Davis Webb or Patrick Mahomes could return to health, but for now, Testaverde at least makes for a daily league bargain or a system play in two-quarterback leagues.

Malcolm Brown, RB, Texas

Brown is likely owned on name recognition, but he likely shouldn't have been based on production to date. This can serve as your notice that he's scored twice in two of the last three games, and is coming off of his first 100-yard game of the season.

BIG TEN

Akrum Wadley, RB, Iowa

Wadley had his redshirt burned in Saturday's blowout win over Northwestern, rushing for 106 yards and a touchdown on his first 15 collegiate carries. It's unlikely the team would burn his redshirt if it weren't serious about using him down the stretch. Wadley can provide some burst to compliment Mark Weisman's pop.

Drake Johnson, RB, Michigan

Johnson makes for a speculative add after Saturday's 16-carry, 122-yard, two-touchdown outburst. Johnson had just five carries prior to the weekend, including six straight games without a carry, so it's entirely possible he fades into the background down the stretch. But for now, any player providing any form of a spark in Ann Arbor needs to be on the field.

CONFERENCE USA

Napoleon Maxwell, RB, Florida International

Maxwell showed well in place of the injured Alex Garnder, rushing for 88 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries Saturday against Rice. With Gardner expected to miss this Saturday's game against Old Dominion, Maxwell should see a similar work load.

Trent Taylor, WR, Louisiana Tech

Taylor enjoyed his first 100-yard game of the season last weekend while scoring three times, his first trip to the end zone since Sept. 11. He had nine catches in the previous two games, and with a remaining schedule of UAB, Old Dominion and Rice, Taylor looks set to finish the season with a bang.

MID-AMERICAN

Ron Willoughby, WR, Buffalo

MACtion is heading to Tuesday and Wednesday nights, so in an effort to keep this relevant, we're focusing on Wednesday night's games. Willoughby has 193 yards and a touchdown in his last two outings and faces an Ohio defense that ranks 119th nationally against the pass, surrendering 292.1 yards weekly.

Daz'mond Patterson, RB, Ohio

Patterson appears to be in line to start Wednesday's game in place of A.J. Ouelllette, who missed the Bobcats last contest with an ankle injury. Patterson has not topped 77 yards in a game this season, but scored his lone touchdown last week in Oullette's absence, and figures to have a chance to do that again against a Bulls defense that has allowed 22 rushing touchdowns in eight games this season.

MOUNTAIN WEST

LaJuan Hunt, Utah State

Hunt provided an obvious spark to the Aggies' rushing attack in his first career start, rushing for 150 yards and adding 44 yards receiving while scoring once. There's little reason for Hunt not to see more carries against a porous Wyoming defense that ranks 94th nationally against the run.

Lamar Jordan, QB, New Mexico

Jordan has teased with fantasy success previously while splitting snaps with Cole Gautsche. Now the team's clear starter following a season-ending injury to Gautsche, Jordan offers the same running ability that put him on radars a month back. He has struggled lateLY, and a matchup against Boise State isn't the best for his immediate success, but Jordan likely will flash some promise over the season's final four games.

PAC-12

Shaq Thompson, RB, Washington

Thompson, a two-way player who doubles as the team's best linebacker, is likely running too well to remove from the backfield. After a 21-carry, 98-yard game two weeks ago, Thompson turned in a 15-carry, 174-yard, one-touchdown game last weekend at Colorado. He's raw as a running back, often running to high, but with a 7.9-yard rushing average, Thompson runs through defenders. Lavon Coleman has missed time due to a shoulder injury and likely will return soon, putting Thompson's role in some doubt -- and coach Chris Peterson said Thompson will play linebacker this week, as well -- but the statistics don't lie, and Thompson deserves more action.

Luke Falk, QB, Washington State

There may not be a more important, must-add player than Falk. Following the season-ending injury to Conner Halliday, Falk will take over the nation's top passing offense. Falk went 38-of-57 for 346 yards and two touchdowns in relief of Halliday last week and will have every opportunity to perform in a similar fashion over the team's final three games.

SEC

Kyle Allen, QB, Texas A&M

True, Allen's performance Saturday in his first start was borderline dreadful. And the Aggies are going on the road to face Auburn this Saturday, a team that is only allowing 22 points per game. But Allen is the clear-cut starter in a game that figures to see its share of points. Allen is an obvious must-add if he was somehow unowned in dynasty leagues, but would make for a decent daily league or weekly stream. He simply has to perform better.

Vince Sanders, WR, Ole Miss

Sanders, along with tight end Evan Engram, will be the Rebels' top receiving threats following the season-ending injury to Laquon Treadwell. Sanders has already turned in a career season, owning 33 catches for 536 yards and four touchdowns and has two 100-yard games in his last three outings.

SUN BELT

Brandon Burks, RB, Troy

Burks has 77 carries, 416 yards and two touchdowns on the season. He hasn't topped 50 yards in the last three games and also had games of six and four yards earlier this season. So why on earth would you want to add him to your team? Because Troy plays Georgia State on Saturday, that's why. The Panthers rank 127 (out of 128 teams) in both scoring and rushing defense. Burks is arguably the best player on Troy, who while no offensive juggernaut, should produce this Saturday. Burks makes for an interesting streaming option.
