Alkins has decided to enter the 2018 NBA draft, the Arizona Daily Wildcat reports.

Alkins' entrance into the 2018 draft pool was essentially a foregone conclusion when his name was announced among the seniors at Senior Night. He flirted with the decision following his freshman campaign but ultimately decided to put in a second season with the Wildcats, averaging 13.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals in 2017-18. He didn't really do anything in his second collegiate season to improve his draft stock and is expected to land somewhere early in the second round.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Alkins will likely start Saturday's game against Washington and won't face a minutes restriction, Bruce Pascoe of the Arizona Daily Star reports.

After notching 16 points off the bench Wednesday, Arizona coach Sean Miller rewarded the sophomore with a spot in the starting lineup. Additionally, Miller noted that Alkins isn't expected to be limited in games for the rest of the season. He may be held out of practices from time to time for maintenance purposes, though. It's unclear if his minutes will increase with this promotion, but it seems like the forward's stock is trending upward regardless.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Alkins (foot) racked up 16 points (6-8 FG, 4-4 3PT, 0-2 FT), one rebound, one assist and one block Wednesday against Washington State.

Although Alkins played a limited role in his return to the floor, that didn't stop him from putting his stamp on the box score. The sophomore's minutes should increase as his ankle proves healthy, but he should continue to contribute in a big way off the bench until he's ready for a full workload. Given how he played in his return, it wouldn't be surprising if Alkins sees a sizable expansion of minutes Saturday against Washington.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

While Alkins (foot) will play Wednesday, he will come off the bench against Washington State, the Arizona Daily Star reports.

As a result of Alkins coming off the bench, it wouldn't be surprising to see his minutes limited in his return to the floor as the team tries to keep him healthy this time around. The sophomore should provide the Wildcats with a considerable boost off the bench and will likely eventually work his way back into the starting five.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Alkins (foot) will play in Wednesday's contest against Washington State.

Alkins' was expected to give it a go for the Wildcats after being cleared for practice Monday and that is indeed the case against the Cougars. The dynamic sophomore serves as one of the main offensive pieces when healthy, averaging 14.6 points per game in addition to impacting the game in all facets. He should return to the starting lineup for Wednesday's matchup and play around 30 minutes if his foot can handle it.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Alkins (foot) was cleared for practice Monday and is expected to return Wednesday against Washington State, the Arizona Daily Star reports.

Plagued by injuries this season, Alkins has played minutes in just 10 of the teams 22 games thus far. After missing two in a row following his foot ailment, it appears the sophomore guard is primed to retake the floor for the Wildcats. A major contributor for the Wildcats when healthy, Alkins has averaged 14.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.6 steals over 30.6 minutes per contest this season.
