Exploring transfer
GGrand Canyon
Hip
April 14, 2020
Rhymes (hip) entered his name into the NCAA's transfer portal Tuesday, Travis Branham of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rhymes appeared in each of Grand Canyon's first 12 games of 2019-20 season before requiring season-ending hip surgery in mid-December, finishing his redshirt junior campaign with averages of 5.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 22.8 minutes. The 6-foot-4 guard could be healthy and ready to go ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, but if he leaves the Antelopes for another Division I school, he could require a waiver from the NCAA in order to suit up immediately. At the very least, expect Rhymes to be eligible to compete at the start of January, given that date would mark more than a year after his last appearance for Grand Canyon (Dec. 12).
