Williams added four points (2-7 FG, 0-4 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists and one steal in Saturday's loss to Maryland.

Williams has now appeared in three games since returning from an ankle injury initially feared to be season-ending that he sustained on Jan. 13 in the last 10 minutes of practice. The senior guard logged a season-high 27 minutes against the Terps, and he is averaging more than 20 minutes along with nearly five points per game since returning to action on Feb. 10 against Nebraska.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams (ankle) will remain out for Saturday's game against Purdue, Jerry Carino of the Asbury Park Press reports.

Rutgers will be without one of its more experienced backcourt pieces Saturday with Williams still working his way back from a high-ankle sprain. Corey Sanders and Geo Baker will handle most of the minutes in the backcourt for Saturday and likely beyond. Carino reports that Williams is aiming for a return Feb. 25 against Illinois, if not sooner.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams suffered an ankle injury during Saturday's practice and is considered out indefinitely, Jerry Carino of the Asbury Park Press reports.

The exact severity of Williams' ankle injury is unclear at this point in time and the fact that it's being ruled an indefinite absence is certainly concerning. The senior guard has been a nice spark off the bench for Rutgers, both offensively and defensively, averaging 9.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.0 steal across 22.1 minutes. More updates should be provided as he goes through the recovery process, though as it currently stands, it appears Rutgers could be without him for at least a few weeks.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams led the scoring charge with 23 points (5-10 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 10-12 FT), adding four steals, three rebounds and two assists across 25 minutes off the bench in Sunday's win over Central Connecticut.

Williams missed the season opener after tweaking his knee, but didn't show any ill effects the team's second time out. He came off the bench, seemingly as a precaution, but it shouldn't be long before he's back in the starting rotation. He had more than twice as many points as any starter for the Scarlet Knights in their narrow victory.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams has a knee injury and is not playing in Friday's season opener against City College of New York, Matt Sugam of the Associated Press reports.

Williams injured his knee during Sunday's exhibition against St. John's and was considered a game-time decision, but will not play in Friday's season opener. The senior will hope to return to action for Sunday's game against Central Connecticut.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams' leg injury is reportedly just a tweak, Jerry Carino of the Asbury Park Press reports.

Williams had to be helped off the court during Sunday's exhibition against St. Johns and appeared to have suffered a serious leg injury. However, Rutgers is now listing it as just a tweak, so Williams has avoided anything overly serious. That being said, with less than a week until the regular-season opener against City College of New York on Nov. 10, it remains to be seen if Williams will be able to play. Tentatively consider him questionable for that contest for now.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams was helped off the court after injuring his leg during Sunday's exhibition game against the City College of New York, Ryan Dunleavy of NJ.com reports.

This comes as a fairly devastating blow for Rutgers, as Williams is one of the more experienced players on their roster. Last season he played in 33 games, and averaged 9.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per competition. It's unclear at this point how serious his injury is, but an update will be posted when more information is released.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams had 14 points (5-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, and a steal in the loss to Michigan on Wednesday.

Williams has now started his last six games after starting just two of the first 23 games of the season. In games he has started this season, the junior is averaging 11.8 points and 6.5 rebounds. The rebounds are impressive for a guard of his size at 6-2. Rutgers will look for just their third conference win next Tuesday when Maryland comes to town.
