Spencer put up 10 points (3-6 FG, 4-4 FT) and grabbed nine rebounds in the blowout loss to Clemson in the NCAA Tournament on Sunday.

The Tigers had an offensive breakdown against the Clemson defense. The team only hit 25.8 percent of its field goals and 21.9 percent of its 3-pointers. The four other starters hit just 21.9 percent of their field goals, so Spencer was a dim light in the blowout. The 6-8 junior played well in expanded minutes after Anfernee McLemore (ankle) was lost for the season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Spencer is expected to take on a heightened role the rest of the way after starting center Anfernee McLemore (ankle) underwent season-ending surgery Sunday, Josh Vitale of the Opelika-Auburn News reports.

McLemore, the team's top shot blocker, had been averaging just under 20 minutes per game. While Spencer will inherit a portion of that playing time, it's expected that true freshman Chuma Okeke will also be called upon to fill the void in the frontcourt. Head coach Bruce Pearl has yet to decide which of the two big men will take McLemore's spot in the starting five Wednesday against Alabama, but the 6-foot-8 Spencer, who is averaging 4.3 points and 4.7 rebounds in 16.6 minutes, will notice a spike in fantasy value regardless of how he's deployed.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Spencer provided 12 points (5-9 FG, 2-2 FT) with nine rebounds and three steals in the win over Cornell on Saturday.

The 6-8 junior has played limited minutes off the Tiger bench, but has been effective in spurts. He is hitting 58.3 percent of his field goals and has scored at least nine points in three of his last four games. The Tiger depth chart is filled with forwards, so Spencer is unlikely to gain many more minutes unless someone gets hurt.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Spencer (shoulder) has begun participating in full-contact practice, James Crepea of AL.com reports.

Spencer was forced to miss the end of the 2016-17 season after undergoing shoulder surgery in February but has apparently progressed well enough to take part in full-contact practice this offseason. He'll split time at power forward with Chuma Okeke and Desean Murray this season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Spencer will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery Thursday, ESPN's Jeff Goodman reports.

Spencer has been battling a shoulder injury for quite some time now, but after medical consultation the sophomore ultimately opted to shut it down for the rest of the year. During the 2016-17 campaign, Spencer averaged 4.8 PPG and 3.4 RPG. Senior forward LaRon Smith seems like the most likely replacement for Spencer moving forward.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Spencer (shoulder) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against Ole Miss, Matthew Stevens of the Montgomery Advertiser reports.

Spencer will miss his third-straight contest due to a shoulder injury and could be in danger of missing an extended period of time, as the team has yet to release any sort of timetable. His next chance to play will be Tuesday against Florida. Expect LaRon Smith and Anfernee McLemore to see increased minutes Saturday in Spencer's absence.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Spencer (shoulder) is set to undergo further testing Wednesday after undergoing an MRI earlier in the week, Brandon Marcello of 247 Sports reports. "It's going to get read again [Wednesday]. He's got something going on in there but we don't know what it is," said coach Bruce Pearl after Tuesday's game against Mississippi State.

Spencer sat out for the second straight game Tuesday due to his shoulder injury and now it appears that he'll need a second opinion on his MRI at the very least. While this sounds concerning, it's still too early to tell the severity of Spencer's injury. If he does have to miss significant time, Auburn will have one less viable bench option in the front court to pair with either Danjel Purifoy or Austin Wiley.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Spencer (shoulder) will not play in Tuesday's game against Mississippi State, Bryan Matthews of Rivals.com reports.

This will be the second straight games Spencer misses with the shoulder injury, and there is still no timetable for his return. His next opportunity to see the court will come Saturday against Ole Miss, but in his absence, look for Anfernee McLemore to continue to see some added minutes.
