Porter suffered a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee during a secret scrimmage Sunday against Northern Illinois and will miss the entire 2018-19 season, Jeff Goodman of Stadium
Porter seriously considered entering the 2018 NBA Draft and participated in the Combine, but ultimately elected to return to Missouri for his sophomore season. Unfortunately, it looks like the he'll now have to wait until 2019-20 to return to the court for the Tigers, unless he decides to pursue professional basketball once he completes his rehab from knee surgery. Porter averaged 9.9 points, 6.8 boards, 2.2 assists and 1.7 blocks across 24.5 minutes per game in 33 appearances as a freshman. With Porter now out of the mix this season, senior Kevin Puryear could claim the starting job at power forward, with junior college transfer KJ Santos also a candidate to compete for time at the position.
