ANALYSIS
Gates originally intended to just test the waters of the draft process, but it appears he has received enough positive feedback to dive in completely. The Junior tended to live around the perimeter during his final season at Xavier, as 54 of his 74 made field goal attempts were triples. He finished the year with an average 7.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. While his numbers do not jump off the page, he projects as a 3-and-D player, which the scouts tend to value in today's NBA. He will likely need to show improvement in consistency in order to really make a move up the boards.
