RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams is expected to be a healthy scratch Saturday against the Eskimos, TSN.ca reports.

Williams has been unable to get much since making his season debut in Week 7, so head coach Wally Buono decided to switch things up this week and give Nick Moore the start at wide receiver in Williams' usual spot. Williams won't officially be scratched until Saturday in case an injury occurs prior to game time, but fantasy owners hoping to include him in this week's lineups should plan on using another option.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams posted six receptions for 62 yards in Saturday's 26-20 loss to the Blue Bombers. He also lost six yards on two punt returns.

The 30-year-old speedster put together one of his most productive outings of the season, posting his highest reception total since Week 12 in the process. Williams has disappointingly been silent as a deep threat throughout the season, however, as he's yet to record a 100-yard game and has been under 11.0 yards per reception for all but two of his nine contests. Nevertheless, Saturday's effort was certainly encouraging, and could be a step towards improved production over the final three games of the regular season.

September 23, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams managed five catches for 54 yards in Friday's 24-23 loss to the Tiger-Cats.

Williams did a lot of his work underneath on crossing routes, as he continues to seemingly be underutilized in the downfield capacity that he's proven so proficient at in the past. The New Mexico State product is averaging a career-low 11.1 yards per reception over seven games, although he does have at least five grabs in four of those contests. Williams has yet to reach the century mark in any game, however, an undesirable statistic he'll try to correct against his former Redblacks teammates in Week 16 following the Lions' Week 15 bye.

September 9, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams notched six receptions for 41 yards in Friday's 41-18 win over the Als.

Williams continues to have a steady role in the Lions' passing attack, but he's been unable to produce the type of game-breaking performances that he was renowned for in previous stops. The competition for targets in BC is formidable, as both Emmanuel Arceneaux and Bryan Burnham command plenty of attention. Williams has averaged five receptions per contest over the five games he's played and will look to put together his first true breakout effort in Week 13 against the Stamps.

August 26, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams logged three receptions for 23 yards in Saturday's 31-24 loss to the Redblacks.

Williams couldn't put together a strong effort against his old Redblacks teammates, posting the lowest receiving yardage total of his four games this season. Despite the disappointing night, Williams possesses excellent upside due to his blazing speed, and he'll look to continue integrating into the Lions offense following their Week 11 bye.

August 19, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams caught seven passes for 44 yards in Friday's 21-17 loss to the Stampeders.

After beginning the season in IR due to a knee injury, Williams has been in impressive form since getting healthy, catching 16 passes for 214 yards and a score in three games. The former Ottawa and Hamilton star has yet to bring down fewer than 1,000 receiving yards in a CFL season during his career, but he'll have a hard time reaching that mark for a fifth straight year.

August 17, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams will start at wide receiver in Friday's game against the Stampeders.

Williams was listed in a reserve role the last two weeks after coming off the six-game injured list, but his performance last week -- six receptions for 95 yards a score -- indicated he was ready to take his rightful place in the Lions' starting lineup. Williams will swap spots with Nick Moore and will be one of the top options in a talented BC receiving corps moving forward.

August 13, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams notched six receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 41-8 loss to the Riders.

Williams found separation hard to come by on his first five catches, and the relentless pressure that the Riders' front brought against both Jonathon Jennings and Travis Lulay certainly didn't help matters. However, the dynamic playmaker utilized his trademark speed on his sixth and final reception, hauling in Jennings' perfectly thrown ball down the left sideline and racing the rest of the way for his first score in a Lions uniform. The absence of Bryan Burnham (foot) and an in-game injury sustained by Nick Moore also helped open up more targets for Williams, who came into the game listed as a backup. He'll look to continue expanding his role in a Week 9 showdown against the Stamps.

August 12, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams is again listed as a reserve wide receiver on the depth chart for Sunday's game against the Roughriders.

Williams was listed in the same spot last week and still finished second on the team in receiving yards, so he is presumably already the Lions' top option outside despite his standing on the depth chart. He figures to play a key role again Sunday as the Lions and Roughriders square off for the second week in a row.

August 5, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams (knee) posted three receptions for 75 yards in Saturday's 30-15 win over the Riders.

The speedster made his long-awaited debut in a Lions uniform and was impressive, hauling in a 49-yard reception and looking like his old self overall. Williams is coming off three consecutive 1,200-yard seasons with the Ti-Cats and Redblacks, and looked like the most explosive player in the CFL at times last season. Therefore, he's expected to add a valuable dimension to the Lions' air attack and will look to build on his strong debut effort in the Week 8 rematch against the Riders.

August 4, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams (knee) will make his season debut Saturday against the Roughriders.

Williams has not played this season while completing his recovery from knee surgery, but he is ready to take the field for both the first time in 2017 and the first time as a Lion. While Williams will be active Saturday, he is listed as a reserve on the depth chart, so it remains to be seen exactly what type of role he will play initially. Long term, there is a good chance Williams grabs a starting spot and becomes the Lions' top threat on the perimeter.

August 1, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams (knee) is expected to make his season debut Saturday against Saskatchewan, Ben Kuzma of The Province reports.

The newly acquired Williams is set to make his Lions debut after missing the first few games while recovering from an October procedure to repair his ACL and meniscus. Williams has been remarkably reliable through his first four CFL seasons, hauling in 70-or-more receptions in each of his campaigns. He'll add a dynamic speed element to the BC offence.

July 24, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams (knee) practiced Monday for the first time since the regular season began.

Williams opened the season on the six-game injured list while completing his recovery from knee surgery, and it appears he has reached the final step in the process before he is cleared for game action. Barring any setbacks this week or next, he figures to make his Lions debut Aug. 5 against the Roughriders.

June 23, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams (knee) was placed on the six-game injured list in advance of the Lions' season opener against the Eskimos.

Williams can technically be activated from the injured list at any point, but he is still recovering from the torn ACL he suffered last October, and it remains to be seen when he will be ready to make his season debut. Williams totaled 1,246 yards and 10 touchdowns in just 14 games last year, so he figures to be a high-impact player for the Lions once he is ready to take the field.

June 16, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams (knee) will not dress for Friday's action against the Roughriders.

Despite being able to practice with the team, Williams isn't yet ready to see game action after a procedure in late October to repair a torn ACL. It remains to be seen whether or not he will be ready for the Lions' first taste of regular season football.

June 9, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams (knee) has been able to practice with the Lions, but it remains to be seen when he will be ready to debut for his new team, TSN reports.

The Lions no doubt want to get Williams on the field as soon as possible, but he is still working his way back from a late October procedure to repair a torn ACL, and it remains to be seen when he will be ready for game action. Emmanuel Arceneaux and Bryan Burnham will be the Lions' top two receiving options until Williams is ready to go.

February 15, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams will sign a two-year contract with the Lions, pending medical clearance on his surgically-repaired knee, Mike Beamish of the Vancouver Sun reports.

Williams tore his ACL while playing for the Red Blacks in 2016. Once he gets cleared, he should be able to join the Lions for the 2017 season. Williams notched 1,246 yards and 10 touchdowns through 14 games before his injury.

October 10, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams has been diagnosed with a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season, Al Jakubec of TSN 1200 reports.

The extent of the injury that forced Williams from Friday's game was not initially certain, but it has now been revealed, and the news could not have been much worse for the Redblacks. Williams was having another huge season with 1,246 yards and 10 touchdowns through 14 games, but he will not play again in 2016, and given the timing of his injury, could miss some action next year as well. The team will be forced to lean more on their productive slotback trio of Greg Ellingson, Ernest Jackson, and Brad Sinopoli the rest of the way.

October 10, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams suffered an apparent leg injury in Friday's loss to the Roughriders, the Ottawa Citizen reports.

Williams was able to find paydirt in Friday's game, but he was injured during the third quarter and did not return. The extent of his setback has not been revealed, but he did not require crutches following the game, so there is reason for optimism about his status moving forward.

October 8, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams caught three passes for 40 yards and a touchdown in Friday's overtime loss to the Roughriders.

It's been another tremendous campaign for the 29-year-old, who's now topped 1200 receiving yards for the third straight season and scored double-digit TDs in two of those seasons as well. Williams is just 53 yards shy of setting a new career high, and gets the perfect venue to do it in next week when the Redblacks head to Hamilton to take on his old Tiger-Cats squad.

October 2, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams amassed 155 yards and a touchdown on five catches in Saturday's 40-33 loss to the Lions.

The New Mexico State speedster put together a performance reminiscent of his first three weeks of the season, when he tallied 25 catches for 493 yards and six touchdowns. Williams had only managed one 100-yard effort since that point, which coincidentally had come against this same Lions squad back in Week 10. Following Saturday's production, Williams is just 92 yards shy of equaling the career-best 1,298 yards he managed in 2012.

September 2, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams secured 10 receptions for 91 yards in Thursday's 19-14 victory over the Als.

The speedster played the unfamiliar role of possession receiver Thursday, equaling the season high in receptions he'd set back in Week 3 against the Stamps. Williams got off to a fast start, securing three receptions for 31 yards on Ottawa's opening possession alone. While fellow pass-catcher Ernest Jackson has stolen some of his touchdown glory in recent weeks, Williams continues to be a vital cog in the Redblacks' impressive offensive machine on a weekly basis.

August 26, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams caught five passes for 116 yards in Thursday's loss to the Lions.

It was the fourth 100-plus receiving yard game this season for the CFL's receiving leader, but Williams' first since he opened the season with three straight 100-yard games. Now that QB Trevor Harris is healthy again however, don't be surprised if Williams starts to pick up the pace once again.

August 19, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams collected 97 yards and a touchdown on five catches in Friday's 43-19 loss to the Als.

The dynamic receiver brought in a perfectly-timed 58-yard touchdown from Henry Burris in the second quarter, his second trip to the end zone in as many weeks. Williams' yardage total was also his best since Week 3, and marked the third straight game in which he upped his number in that category after bottoming out with a season-low 14 yards in Week 5 versus the Roughriders. Despite having fallen back down to earth after a jaw-dropping first three weeks of the campaign, Williams still has a solid 50 receptions for 784 yards and eight scores through eight games.

August 7, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams went for 62 yards and a touchdown on seven catches in Saturday's 23-20 victory over the Eskimos.

The New Mexico State product recorded his first touchdown catch since Week 3, although he was under the 100-yard mark for the fourth consecutive game. Williams was also responsible for a couple of forgettable plays Saturday, dropping what would a sure touchdown late in the first quarter and then having a pass bounce off his foot and into the hands of Eskimos linebacker JC Sherritt for a pick-six in the fourth. Despite some recent struggles, Williams is still on pace to surpass his personal bests in receptions, yards and touchdowns in 2016.

August 1, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams gained 55 yards on six receptions, 32 yards on three punt returns and 61 yards on three kickoff returns in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Argos.

The dynamic receiver hasn't been able to replicate the success of his first three games over the last trio of contests, but Sunday was his best all-around effort since Week 3. Williams was able to get downfield for a 35-yard completion, although he was notably held to a minuscule 4.0 average on his other five catches. His special-teams contributions were also strong and helped him eclipse 100 yards of total offense for the fourth time in six games. He'll look to return to prominence in Week 7 when he takes on an Eskimos squad that he shredded for 176 yards and two touchdowns in the opener.

July 23, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams recorded just one catch for 14 yards in Friday's 30-29 loss to the Roughriders, and added nine yards on his sole punt return.

After starting out the season like a house afire over the first three weeks, Williams has seen a significant reduction in production over the last two games. Friday's numbers were by far the worst of the season for the New Mexico State product, and seemed to have largely been influenced by quarterback Trevor Harris' exit from the contest with a leg injury in the first quarter. Williams saw Brad Sinopoli become emergency quarterback Brock Jensen's favorite target on the night, but given his extensive talent, figures to regain a prominent role in the offense in the Week 6 tilt versus the Argos.

July 14, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams caught six passes for 63 yards in Wednesday's win over the Argos.

It was easily his worst game of the season so far but while Toronto's secondary was paying attention to Williams, Greg Ellingson exploded for 218 receiving yards. The Redblacks' passing attack is firing on all cylinders right now and with opposing defenses starting to realize that Williams isn't their only threat, he could go right back to being the CFL's most productive receiver.

July 9, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams caught 10 passes for 130 yards and three touchdown in Friday's 26-26 tie with the Stampeders.

His 493 receiving yards and six TDs on the season set new CFL records for production by a receiver through three games. Williams is already seeing plenty of defensive attention, but other teams may have to start selling out their coverage to try and slow him down.

June 30, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams monopolized the stat sheet in Thursday's 28-13 victory over the Alouettes, amassing 187 yards and a touchdown on seven catches, gaining 20 yards on four punt returns and totaling another 29 yards on one field goal return.

The 28-year-old standout has been an absolute nightmare for opposing defenses through the first two weeks, with Williams having totaled 15 catches for 363 yards and three touchdowns over that span. He put the final nail in the Als' coffin Thursday by hauling in a 52-yard bomb from Trevor Harris with 6:35 remaining, and also served as a constant threat on punt returns. It looks like injury may well be the only thing that can slow down the slender New Mexico State product, as he's demonstrated stellar chemistry with Harris, who's set to lead the Redblacks attack in Henry Burris' (hand) stead until Week 9 at a minimum.

June 26, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Williams hauled in eight receptions for 176 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 45-37 overtime victory over the Eskimos. He also added 24 yards on a punt return.

The slight New Mexico State product once again played much larger in stature Saturday, picking up where he left off after a third consecutive 1,000-yard campaign in 2015. Williams displayed outstanding rapport with backup Trevor Harris after the latter was forced into the game following Henry Burris' hand injury, bringing in a 71-yard touchdown on Harris' first play from scrimmage in the third quarter. He helped the Redblacks take the 27-21 lead on the next drive with a 37-yard visit to the end zone, putting the stamp on a terrific Opening Week performance. Given the mid-season form he displayed versus the Eskimos, it appears the talented wideout will be a fantasy force this season irrespective of who lines up behind center.
