Arizona State's coaching staff is looking for Lauderdale to become a secondary go-to receiving target alongside Jalen Strong in 2014, AZCentral.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Arizona State quarterback Mike Bercovici, rooming with Lauderdale during fall camp, explains the team doesn't "need another Jaelen Strong," but someone "who we can trust catching the ball and getting in the right spot." The 6-2, 195-pound Lauderdale appears more than capable of filling that role this season, especially considering he tallied 114 catches for 1,619 yards and 16 touchdowns two previous seasons playing at Saddleback College in California. Also factor in, as ASU receiver coach DelVaughn Alexander states, "Eric is fast and has really good feet. He can get in an out of the break. I've watched him run by guys and go up to make a touch catch." Little surprise then why Alexander says, "We're really happy to have [Lauderdale]." Fantasy owners in Pac-12-oriented and deeper leagues are likely to feel similar.
