Wesley Johnson
Signs with Panathinaikos
July 22, 2019
Johnson signed a one-year contract with Panathinaikos on Monday, Eurohoops.net reports.
The fourth overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, Johnson will head overseas for the first time in his career after spending the past nine seasons in North America. The 32-year-old played a bit role between two NBA teams in 2018-19, but his 609 regular-season games' worth of experience at basketball's top level should make him a strong candidate to earn major minutes for the Greek club. Johnson's deal likely includes an opt-out clause that would allow him to pursue any NBA opportunities that may be presented to him at some point during the upcoming campaign.
