This player will have no fantasy value in 2013-14 and can be ignored in all formats.
Weller came to South Florida last season in a trade that sent defenseman Dennis Seidenberg to Boston. He isn't expected to be more than organizational depth for the Panthers in 2010-11.
Weller is a stay-at-home defender who doesn't offer much to fantasy rosters. He'll rack up PIMs when give ice time, but he offers very little offensively.
Weller had 80 PIM in 59 games last season, and he will fill an enforcer role for the Wild after the departure of Aaron Voros. He should be a nice source of penalty minutes throughout the season.
Weller skated in 80 games, tallying 12 goals and 22 assists for 34 points, along with 152 penalty minutes with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL -- where he also serves as that team's captain. While his upside is not very high, he certainly has alot of leadership qualities which makes him attractive to the organization; whether he'll assend to the big club is another question, but he's certain to stay in the minors for the forseeable future.
Weller skated in 76 games for the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL last season, registering 10 goals, nine assists and 182 penalty minutes.
