Jared Aulin

Aulin was one of the Kings' top prospects before missing the start of the 2003-04 season when he dislocated his shoulder in a preseason game. While injured, Aulin was dealt to the Capitals at the deadline for Anson Carter, a deal which could turn out to be a gigantic steal for the Caps. Not only did Aulin score five points in 16 games in the AHL after coming off his shoulder injury, but he was third on AHL Portland in 2004-05 with 30 points in 65 games. The 23-year-old has the pedigree and recent production that indicate he will make an impact in the NHL, but the Caps will probably start him in the AHL in 2005-06 to see if he can remain consistent before bringing him up to the big club for good.
