2Tap
Ends career with submission loss at UFC Fight Night Glasgow
FlyweightUFC
July 16, 2017
Seery lost to Alexandre Pantoja via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:31 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Sunday in Glasgow, Scotland
ANALYSIS
Prior to this fight, Seery announced that he would retire regardless of the result of this fight. He hoped to go out with a win, but that was not in the cards. Seery had his moments in the stand up, mostly late in the second round. However, Pantoja was a slicker and more diverse striker. In the third round, the Brazilian landed an early takedown and finished the fight via submission. Seery signed with the UFC in 2014. During his run in the promotion, he scored wins over Phil Harris, Chris Beal and Jon Delos Reyes.

ANALYSIS
Seery will get the advantage of fighting in front of his home crowd, but most other advantages, with the exception of total number of fights, will lean towards McCall. Seery has lost two of his last three bouts, and will be looking to rebound from a unanimous-decision defeat to Kyoji Horiguchi back in May.
Neil Seery: Submits Jon Delos Reyes in front of hometown crowd.
FlyweightUFC
October 24, 2015
Seery defeated Jon Delos Reyes via submission (guillotine) at 4:12 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Dublin.
ANALYSIS
How can you not love Seery? The guy has a full-time job and at 36-years old, he fights for the love of the sport. In front of the hometown fans on Saturday, the Dublin native was at his best. He beat up Delos Reyes on the feet and then showed off a ground game that we rarely see from Seery. Always willing to fight anyone, anytime, hopefully we will see Seery in the near future. He is a treat to watch.
