Shows nothing in Bellator debut
MiddleweightOther
July 14, 2017
Rhodes lost to Rafael Lovato jr via submission (rear-naked choke) at 1:59 on Round 1 at Bellator 181 on Friday in Thackerville, Okla.
ANALYSIS
Rhodes left the UFC in 2014 after dropping three-straight fights in the promotion. He had gotten back on track with four wins on some independent shows. In his Bellator debut, he did not really get the chance to show anything. Lovato took his back in a scramble almost immediately. From there, Rhodes had no answers for the Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace. There are middleweights in Bellator that Rhodes can beat. If he gets another shot in the promotion, he will need to impress to keep his job.
