Patrick Williams

Release possible after loss to Luke Sanders
BantamweightUFC
April 14, 2018
Williams lost to Luke Sanders via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 28-29) at UFC on FOX 29 on Saturday in Glendale, Arizona.
ANALYSIS
Williams started slowly and finished slowly and he could be looking at a release as a result. A wrestler by trade, Williams looks awkward and uncomfortable on the feet and he spent a good part of Saturday's bout serving as a punching bag for Sanders. The 36-year-old is 1-3 in the UFC and he has just one win in the last four years. There is little reason to keep Williams around at this point.

Finished by elbows at the hands of debuting Tom Duquesnoy
BantamweightUFC
April 15, 2017
Williams lost to Tom Duquesnoy via TKO (elbows) at 0:28 of Round 2 at UFC on FOX 24 on Saturday in Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
The first fight in nearly two years for Williams didn't go well. The solid work that he put forth in Round 1 was negated by his gas tank, or lack thereof. He managed to score two easy takedowns in Round 1 and connect with quite a few big shots, but Williams had his hands on his knees by the end of the first frame and the explosive Duquesnoy took advantage of the opening. It won't happen at the moment, but the 35-year-old should could be looking at a release.
Patrick Williams: Smashes Alejandro Perez Saturday
BantamweightUFC
June 13, 2015
Williams defeated Alejandro Perez via submission (guillotine) at 0:23 of Round 1 at UFC 188 on Saturday in Mexico City.
ANALYSIS
That, was the fastest submission in the bantamweight division in UFC/WEC history. Williams nailed Perez with a couple huge shots right after the opening bell before slapping on the choke. Williams was on the short end of a highlight-reel TKO against Chris Beal in his first UFC bout, but he responded in a big way Saturday to win his first contest with the promotion.

June 8, 2015
Williams will enter Saturday's bantamweight bout at UFC 188 in Mexico City as the underdog against Alejandro Perez.
ANALYSIS
Williams lost his UFC debut by knockout at the hands of Chris Beal, but will look to get back in the win column in what projects to be a relatively even fight Saturday night.
