John Gunther

The Machine
Dominated by Davi Ramos Saturday in Denver
LightweightUFC
November 10, 2018
Gunther lost to Davi Ramos via submission (rear-naked choke) at 1:57 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Denver.
ANALYSIS
This was perhaps the most lopsided fight in the 25-year history of the UFC. To say Gunther didn't deserve to be in the octagon with a fighter of Ramos's caliber would be the understatement of the century. Gunther looked awful in his TUF 27 Finale fight in July and he looked even worse on Saturday. He's not a UFC-caliber fighter.

Earns the nod in an extremely sloppy fight at the TUF 27 Finale
LightweightUFC
July 6, 2018
Gunther defeated Allan Zuniga via majority decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-28) at the TUF 27 Finale on Friday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This fight was really something. Neither fighter seemed to have the fighting skill to be in the UFC. Luckily for Gunther, he had a wrestling advantage. He was able to press his opponent into the cage and work for takedowns. Once the fight went to the ground, he could not do very much, but it was enough to take the decision. Even though Gunther won this fight, there are very few fighters in the UFC he could beat at this point.
