Another first round stoppage loss

Moreira lost to Paul Craig via submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:19 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Mexico City.
Moreira's struggles continue. The Brazilian earned his UFC contract following a submission victory on Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series in August 2018, but he has been stopped in the first round in each of his first three official UFC bouts. That almost always results in a competitor being handed his/her walking papers. It's been a sudden, swift fall from grace for a guy who entered the company with some potential helium.
Draws Paul Craig in Mexico City

Moreira will take on Paul Craig in a light heavyweight matchup at UFC Mexico City on Sept. 21, reports.
After back-to-back first-round losses to start his official tenure with the UFC, Moreira will be fighting with his back against the wall against an opponent who has alternated wins and losses in his last five. Craig has shown a tendency to fight foolishly aggressive at times, so Moreira will likely have to avoid an early onslaught and turn to his wrestling early in order to be successful. Both men have absorbed more significant strikes than they have received while with the company, though Craig has a much larger sample size. Moreira was dealt a lengthy medical suspension after getting knocked out by Eryk Anders in his last trip to the cage, but it appears he's since received medical clearance.

Moreira was handed a potential 180-day medical suspension on Tuesday, Alexander K. Lee of reports.
Moriera was knocked out in the first round of his fight against Eryk Anders this past weekend. It's unclear exactly what sort of injury Moreira is dealing with, but he has a minimum suspension of 30 days and will require a clear CT scan before returning to action.

Moreira lost to Eryk Anders via KO (punches) at 1:18 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Minneapolis.
As if getting knocked out for the second time in a row to begin your UFC career wasn't bad enough, Moreira had to eat a handful of extra shots from Anders due to the incompetence of referee Vance Swerdan despite the fact he was all but out cold. A product of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series, the Brazilian has displayed absolutely nothing during his short time with the company and it's not a guaranteed he gets a third opportunity with the UFC.

Moreira will now face Eryk Anders in a lightheavyweight bout at UFC Minneapolis on June 29, Nolan King of Flocombat reports.
Moreira was originally scheduled to face Roman Dolidze at UFC Minneapolis, however Dolidze has been pulled from the bout for a reason unknown at this time. Moreira now draws an opponent with a little more experience in the octagon in Anders, however Anders is coming into the fight 1-4 in his last bouts. Moreira has just one previous UFC contest, a one-sided, knockout loss back in January.
