Early submission earns contract
Huckbody defeated Kyron Bowen via submission (arm-triangle choke) at 1:28 of Round 1 at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. After the show, he was one of four fighters to be awarded an official UFC contract.

Huckbody went to his wrestling game early, and while it didn't see immediate success, he persisted and got Bowen to the ground. Bowen attempted to escape, but Huckbody advanced to full mount in the transition. At that point, Huckbody was planning on going to his ground and pound, but he said in his post-fight interview that he heard Bowen's corner telling him to watch out for the arm triangle.
