Falls to 1-3 in UFC after loss Saturday in Vancouver
MiddleweightUFC
August 27, 2016
McLellan lost to Alessio Di Chirico via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC on FOX 21 on Saturday in Vancouver.
ANALYSIS
It was an even, sloppy affair with little separating the two combatants. McLellan's best flurry on the feet came on Round 1, and although he was able to rack up 2:38 worth of control time in the final frame, it wasn't enough for him to earn the judge's decision. With a 1-3 record over his first four UFC bouts, the 34-year-old McClellan has shown nothing than would lead you to believe he can be successful with the company. A release is a possibility here.

McLellan lost to Magnus Cedenblad via TKO (strikes) at 0:47 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Sunday in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
ANALYSIS
Considering how badly he was battered on the feet, McLellan should consider himself lucky that he lasted nearly six minutes. The South African was unable to figure out how to get inside against the taller Swede and the end result was a short night at the office. McLellan got off virtually no offense for the entire duration of the bout. McLellan has now rotated wins and losses through his first three UFC bouts. He's nothing more than roster depth.
Garreth McLellan: Picks up pace, knocks out Bubba Bush late
MiddleweightUFC

McLellan defeated Bubba Bush via KO at 4:58 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Dublin.
ANALYSIS
McLellan started slowly, but boy, did he turn it on over the final ten minutes. He battered Bush badly during the second round and the bout could have been stopped considerably earlier if referee Piotr Michalak was doing his job properly. It was a pretty impressive effort when you take into consideration that McLellan lost his UFC debut in April via unanimous decision to a guy named Bartosz Fabinski.
