WelterweightBellator
September 29, 2018
Koreshkov lost to Douglas Lima via submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:04 of Round 5 at Bellator 206 on Saturday in San Jose, Calif.
ANALYSIS
Koreshkov came into this fight looking to move on in the Bellator welterweight tournament and settle his rivalry against Lima. However, he struggled to win rounds. After a close first round, Lima took over the fight with his leg kicks. This took away Koreshkov's ability to land takedowns. From there, the fight was all Lima. In the final round, he even took over on the ground. Lima moved to the back, threw enough strikes to force a mistake and finished with a rear-naked choke. The submission eliminated Koreshkov from the tournament.

WelterweightBellator
July 20, 2018
Koreshkov, who defeated Vaso Bakocevic via first-round KO (spinning back kick) at Bellator 203 on Saturday, will be part of the upcoming Welterweight Grand Prix tournament, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Koreshkov has now won eight of his last nine fights, with the one blemish being a KO loss to fellow tournament contender Douglas Lima (who Koreshkov has also beaten in the past. Though the promotion has yet to confirm an official opponent for Koreshkov in the opening round, Lima did disclose via his personal Twitter account that the two combatants would face off at the Sept. 29 tournament opener. This would be a step back up in competition for Koreshkov, who will look to avenge the loss that cost him his Bellator title back in November of 2016.
Gets back on track against Chidi Njokuani at Bellator 182
WelterweightBellator
August 25, 2017
Koreshkov defeated Chidi Njokuani via TKO (strikes) at 4:08 of Round 1 at Bellator 182 on Friday in Verona, N.Y.
ANALYSIS
After dropping his title against Douglas Lima in his last fight, the former champion looked to be back in form here. Koreshkov ate some leg kicks early, but once he figured out the timing and distance, he dominated. He scored with a spinning back fist and a flying knee on the feet. He then moved in for a takedown and passed to side control. From there, he unleashed a barrage of elbows that forced Njokuani to defend. He blocked a lot of the shots, but the onslaught was not stopping. Eventually, the referee was forced to stop the bout. Koreshkov has proved in the past that he can beat Lima. If he continues to have performances like this, he will get another shot.

WelterweightBellator
November 11, 2016
Koreshkov lost to Douglas Lima via KO (punch) at 1:21 of round 3 at Bellator 164 on Thursday in Tel Aviv, Israel
ANALYSIS
After defeating Lima and Benson Henderson, Koreshkov appeared to be basically unbeatable in the Bellator welterweight division. However, he came back down to earth at Bellator 164. Unlike their first fight, Koreshkov struggled to score takedowns. When he did get the fight to the ground, Lima not only survived but also scrambled back to the feet. In a standup battle, Lima had the advantage. He continually landed kicks and made it a tough day for Koreshkov. The Brazilian finally finsihed the bout with a flurry early in the third round.
To defend title against Douglas Lima
WelterweightBellator
September 7, 2016
Andrey Koreshkov will face Douglas Lima for the Bellator Welterweight Title on Nov. 10 in Tel Aviv, Israel, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Koreshkov's time as a belt holder began with a defeat over Lima on July 17, 2015. He was in clear control of that contest, showing the ability to take down Lima at ease, despite not generally being known for his wrestling. Lima has no choice but to enter this bout having prepared for this, so Koreshkov will likely have to utilize the other dimensions of his technique if he wants to come out on top once again. It will be the Russian's second defense of his belt after picking up a unanimous-decision victory over former UFC product Benson Henderson back in April.

Koreshkov will enter his Welterweight Title defense as a +190 underdog at Bellator 153 on Friday in Uncasville, Connecticut.
ANALYSIS
Koreshkov, a 25-year-old native of Omsk, Russia, possesses some of the sharpest kickboxing technique in MMA, and earned his Welterweight title with a decision victory over Douglas Lima. It is in the ground game, however, where Koreshkov can encounter problems. Koreshkov's 2013 bout with Ben Askren (the sole loss on his resume) was a mauling. Askren, the decorated Mizzou wrestler, dominated Koreshkov from pillar to post, earning a fourth round TKO finish only after his opponent demonstrated an unwillingness to fight back from full mount. Henderson possesses a similarly suffocating grappling arsenal, and is capable of taking this title fight to a one-sided decision. If Koreshkov plans on enjoying a lengthy title run, he may need to stop "Smooth" on the feet before the fight reaches the ground.
