Yen-Hsun Lu

40-Year-Old
Eyeing Australian Open
January 2, 2021
Lu (shoulder) intends to play the 2021 Australian Open, Ben Rothenberg of The New York Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Lu has been dealing with a chronic shoulder issue for multiple years and still holds a protected ranking of No. 71 as a result of him playing in just four total events since October of 2017. Given that he's 37 years old and has almost no competitive reps under his belt the past three years, it would be surprising to see him make it beyond Round 2 of the Australian Open, much less Round 1.
