Taiyanna Jackson

Selected by the Sun with the 19th overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Jackson is coming off of a trio of standout seasons at Kansas, where she was a two-time All-Big 12 selection and a three-time Big 12 All-Defense member. At 6-6, Jackson has elite size and used that stature to swat 3.0 blocks per game in each of the last two seasons. In 2022-23, Jackson added 15.2 points and 12.7 rebounds per game before posting 12.6 points and 1.0 boards per game last season. The Sun have some depth pieces in place at center -- Olivia Nelson-Ododa and Astou Ndour-Fall -- but Jackson could get some looks early on if Brionna Jones, who ruptured her Achilles in June, is not ready for the start of the 2024 WNBA campaign.
