PITCHER
Michael Wacha, STL at SDP ($8,800): Wacha has quietly been tremendous following season-opening clunker, giving up just one earned run in 12.0 innings pitched while maintaining a K/9 of 9.0 over his last two starts. That level of effectiveness is bound to translate to some wins before long, and Wacha will have a strong opportunity to keep rolling against a San Diego offense that ranks 20th in runs scored and strikes out more than all but three MLB teams.
CATCHER
Jarrod Saltalamacchia, DET vs. CLE ($3,200): Saltalamacchia has crushed right-handed pitching even harder than usual in 2016, registering a .556 wOBA from the left side to raise his career mark as a LHB to .339. The moderately-priced catcher probably won't get much consideration from most owners because 2014 AL Cy Young award winner Corey Kluber is the opposing starter, but Kluber is currently sitting on an ugly 0-3 record with a 6.16 ERA.
FIRST BASE
John Jaso, PIT at ARI ($2,700): Jaso plays almost exclusively against right-handed starters, but his .403 wOBA against them this season has justified that usage pattern. Arizona starter Rubby De La Rosa ranks near the bottom of the barrel as far as right-handers go, with an awful .377 wOBA allowed to lefties, so expect the Pittsburgh leadoff man to capitalize on facing him in hitter-friendly Chase Field.
SECOND BASE
Starlin Castro, NYY vs. TAM ($3,100): Castro's strong early play has prompted his promotion to the No. 2 spot in the lineup, which puts him in a high-upside position with the Yankees set to face spot-starting lefty Blake Snell in his MLB debut. It wouldn't be surprising if Snell was overwhelmed by the moment at Yankee Stadium, which could lead to extra at-bats and/or more ducks on the pond for the Cuban infielder. There is some uncertainty tied to this pick due to the element of mystery associated with facing a rookie starter, but $3,100 is a small price to pay considering how great the rewards could be.
THIRD BASE
Adrian Beltre, TEX at CWS ($3,900): Beltre's off to a red-hot start this season, and he has mashed left-handed pitching throughout his career to the tune of a .376 wOBA. White Sox starter Carlos Rodon has struggled against opposite-handed hitters early in his career, allowing a .353 wOBA to RHBs, so the right-handed Beltre is likely to excel against him in the heart of the Rangers order.
SHORTSTOP
Elvis Andrus, TEX at CHW ($3,200): Andrus just had an eight-game hitting streak snapped, but this matchup with a southpaw should allow the shortstop to start a new one right away. He's scorching lefties with a .691 wOBA in nine plate appearances this year, and has done a great job of making up for a lack of steals by producing at the plate so far. Andrus won't stay this effective against lefties forever, but it's best to ride him in this time of prime form, especially given his reasonable $3,200 price.
OUTFIELD
Christian Yelich, MIA at SFG ($3,700): Yelich has thrived against almost every pitcher put in front of him this season, and an over-the-hill Jake Peavy should be no exception. Left-handed bats own a .607 wOBA in 29 plate appearances against Peavy in 2016, and Yelich should be able to at least match if not improve on that mark, batting from that side himself.
David Peralta, ARI vs. PIT ($3,200): Peralta continues to make for a fine choice at his price against right-handed pitching. His home park has displayed a park factor comparable to that of legendary hitter's paradise Coors Field thus far in 2016, and Arizona's cleanup hitter is more than capable of taking advantage of its cozy dimensions considering his career .383 wOBA against RHP.
Melky Cabrera, CWS vs. TEX ($3,000): Cabrera is a switch-hitter who has shown a slightly higher proficiency from the left side of the plate, which works out perfectly for his owners with righty Colby Lewis on the mound for the Rangers. The over/under on this contest is a robust 8.5 runs, and Cabrera should be right in the thick of things hitting in the heart of the order for the slightly favored White Sox. Those in search of an affordable option with both a high floor and decent ceiling need look no further.
