Pitcher
Chris Tillman, BAL vs. OAK ($7,700): After an up-and-down 2015, the 28-year-old Tillman has seemingly returned to form over his first six starts this season. He's posted three consecutive quality starts against the Blue Jays, Rays, and Yankees, and struck out nine batters apiece in his last two trips to the mound. Those outings have netted a massive 57 and 59 fantasy points, outstanding returns on his price. He's looking at another favorable matchup in the form of the A's, as Oakland checks in with the AL's fourth-lowest team batting average (.235). Tillman has also dominated them to the tune of a 2-0 record, 2.28 ERA, and .177 batting average over 27.2 innings in his encounters with them over the previous three seasons.
Catcher
Salvador Perez, KAN at CLE ($2,700): Perez has undoubtedly taken up permanent residence in Indians starter Josh Tomlin's nightmares after touching him up for nine hits in 14 career at-bats, including three doubles, a homer and five RBI. The Royals' backstop's recent struggles have driven down both his price and the interest in him, making him a relatively low-risk pivot from more expensive options. Perez is still tallying a .334 wOBA and 35.7 percent hard contact rate against righties despite his current struggles, while Tomlin has yielded a .332 wOBA to the 1071 right-handed bats he's faced over his six-plus major league seasons.
First Base
Marwin Gonzalez, HOU vs. SEA ($2,100): You'll naturally want to make sure that Gonzalez draws a fifth straight start before inserting him in your lineup, but he's likely to take the field considering both recent performance and his history against Hisashi Iwakuma. The 27-year-old has hit .500 (8-for-16) with a double and solo homer over his career against the Mariners starter, and is also coming into Sunday's matchup with a hot bat. Gonzales has posted double-digit fantasy points in three of his last four games, and sports a price that carries minimal risk.
Second Base
Joe Panik, SFG vs. COL ($3,200): Panik was blanked on six at-bats Saturday against the Rockies, but had double-digit fantasy points in five of the previous seven games. Considering Colorado will trot out Eddie Butler on Sunday, a repeat of Saturday's low-scoring affair is unlikely, and Panik could be in a prime position to ensure that. He's mashed righties in the early going again this year, posting a .340 wOBA and .241 ISO against them. Butler has been a willing facilitator to the success of left-handed hitters as well, as evidenced by the .337 wOBA and 50 percent hard contact rate he's yielded to them over a small 2016 sample of 12 batters. Those numbers are actually an improvement over his career figures, which reveal a .459 wOBA and 11 homers surrendered to righty bats over a 231-hitter sample.
Third Base
Maikel Franco, PHI at MIA ($2,800): Franco always carries considerable upside in his bat, as evidenced by his 28.2 fantasy points against the Marlins on Friday night. His potential particularly comes to the forefront against southpaws, against who Franco is posting a .422 wOBA and .444 ISO over 30 plate appearances this season. The Marlins' Justin Nicolino has been effective over his first two starts this season, but has given up eight of his nine career homers and a 34.4 percent hard contact rate to right-handed hitters.
Shortstop
Ketel Marte, SEA at HOU ($2,800): Marte has posted 18.7 and 28.5 fantasy points in two of his last three games, and has an opportunity for more of the same against the struggling Collin McHugh. The Astros starter has struggled to get anyone out this season, but left-handers in particular have given him fits. McHugh has given up a .461 wOBA in 66 at-bats against lefties this season, along with three of the four homers he's surrendered to date. While he's been a much better pitcher over his career than what he's demonstrated this season, the fact is that he's yet to show he can snap out of his current doldrums. Marte has a prime spot at the top of the Mariners lineup, leaving him in a favorable position to exploit the opportunity.
Outfield
David Peralta, ARI at ATL ($3,000): Peralta may have come up empty against a righty on Saturday, but his .383 wOBA and 26 career homers substantiate that those instances are few and far between. Therefore, at his price, fire him right back up as an appealing value option versus the struggling Mike Foltynewicz. The Braves starter has been inept against both handedness of hitters so far this season, and has yielded a .530 wOBA and 50 percent hard contact rate in 12 at-bats against lefties. His career numbers bear out his futility, as he's yielded a .417 wOBA, 13 homers, and 30.2 percent hard contact rate in 249 at-bats versus left-handed hitters over his two-plus major league seasons.
Gerardo Parra, COL at SFG ($3,400): Parra has proven to be a solid acquisition for the Rockies, and has scored 18.7 to 32.1 fantasy points in four of his last 10 games. He's capable of contributing across all offensive categories, even posting five stolen bases to date in 2016. He brings a favorable history against Giants starter Jeff Samardzija, against whom he's posted a .389 average (7-for-18), with a double, a homer, two RBI and two walks. Samardzija has been solid this season, but has yielded a .328 wOBA over his eight-plus seasons to right-handed hitters.
Melky Cabrera, CWS vs. MIN ($2,900): Cabrera has been a great option in either cash games or tournaments to date this season, and a matchup against Tyler Duffey promises to facilitate additional success. Cabrera has over 20 fantasy points in two of his last six games, and between 9.0 and 9.2 fantasy points in four others over his last 10. He's feasted on righty pitching, posting a .367 wOBA and both of his homers this season against them over 104 plate appearances. Those numbers feed perfectly into Duffey's weakness against lefties, to which he's yielded a .531 wOBA and 50 percent hard contact rate in 2016.
