FanDuel MLB: Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

PITCHER

Ervin Santana, MIN at OAK ($6,300): Santana has a 2.08 ERA against Oakland over 21.2 innings during the last three seasons, and he has been even better when facing them at O.co Coliseum, managing a 1.23 ERA and holding them to a .173 batting average. Additionally, the A's have the fifth-lowest wOBA in the majors against right-handed pitching (.299) this season.

CATCHER

Chris Herrmann, ARI vs. HOU ($3,200): Herrmann is turning in an outstanding offensive season and has demonstrated his ceiling with a pair of outings north of 28 fantasy points in the last 10 games. He's also decimated right-handed pitching, tallying a .431 wOBA. .338 ISO and 51 percent hard contact rate. That puts the already-struggling Colin McHugh in a precarious situation, as he comes in having surrendered a .383 wOBA and five of his six homers this season to lefty hitters.

FIRST BASE

Joe Mauer, MIN at OAK ($3,300): Mauer's bat is on fire, and he draws a pitcher quite capable of throwing more gasoline on that inferno. Oakland starter Kendall Graveman has given up a .367 wOBA, four homers and 30.2 percent hard contact rate to left-handed bats, while Mauer has a .361 wOBA and 36.3 percent hard contact rate against right-handed pitching. He's also hit homers in three consecutive games, has four multi-hit outings over his last six and has scored over 30 fantasy points twice in the last three.

SECOND BASE

Jurickson Profar, TEX at CLE ($2,200): Profar is available for near minimum, is hitting out of the leadoff spot and draws a matchup against a pitcher that's had some trouble keeping the ball in the park in Josh Tomlin. The Indians starter has given up a home run in all but one start this season, allowing nine in 51 innings. Profar has some power, with a pair of minor league campaigns with double-digit homers, and while Tomlin has pitched well overall, he's given up a 39.3 percent hard contact rate and 22.2 HR/FB rate to left-handed bats this season.

THIRD BASE

Hernan Perez, MIL vs. STL ($2,400): Perez is now hitting .313 and has double-digit fantasy points in four games over the last 10. The Brewers' infielder has also thrived against right-handed pitching, amassing a .420 wOBA and 43.5 percent hard contact rate over 30 plate appearances this season. While Cardinals starter Carlos Martinez has certainly been very tough on right-handed hitters, this is another case of low-risk, potentially high reward.

SHORTSTOP

Eduardo Nunez, MIN at OAK ($3,300): We'll pick on Kendall Graveman again with another hot Twins bat in Nunez, who is hitting a scorching .338 after his fourth consecutive multi-hit game Sunday, a stretch that's netted double-digit fantasy points three times. As bad as Graveman has been against lefties, right-handed bats have touched him up even worse, as he's surrendered a .402 wOBA, six homers, a 6.78 FIP and 32.4 percent hard contact rate to them this year. Those numbers suit Nunez just fine, as he's managed a .383 wOBA and four homers against righties.

Brandon Crawford, SFG at ATL ($3,100): Crawford is difficult to pass up against Braves starter Mike Foltynewicz, who has surrendered a .459 wOBA, 6.11 FIP and 39.4 percent hard contact rate to left-handed hitters over a 43-batter sample this year. Meanwhile, Crawford has tallied a .338 wOBA and .219 ISO against right-handed pitchers in 2016.

OUTFIELD

Hyun Soo Kim, BAL vs. BOS ($2,400): Kim has a pair of multi-hit outings (and double-digit fantasy points) in his last five starts, and while opposing starter Steven Wright has been tough on both handedness of hitters this season, it's notable that he's yielded a 4.25 FIP and 5.26 xFIP to lefty bats.

Robbie Grossman, MIN at OAK ($2,700): Grossman is now hitting .357 following his 22.2 fantasy points on Sunday. The switch-hitting outfielder has a .409 wOBA and 41.7 percent hard contact rate against right-handed pitching this season, while Kendall Graveman gives up a .367 wOBA to left-handed hitters.

Denard Span, SFG at ATL ($3,200): The Giants' leadoff man jumped right back into the starting lineup Sunday after a one-game absence due to a hip bruise, and he promptly knocked three hits, including a solo homer, against the Rockies. He'll be matched up against the aforementioned Mike Foltynewicz, whose trouble against lefty hitters are well-documented. Span also has a .330 wOBA against right-handed pitching this year.
