DraftKings MLB: Saturday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings MLB series.

Keep an eye on the weather for Saturday's games, as there is a few that could be affected due to a storm system moving throughout the Midwest. I included a couple extra options from Cleveland and Kansas City, but both of those games could end up being postponed.

PITCHER

Stephen Strasburg, WAS vs. NYM ($11,600): On a day filled with numerous high-priced aces, Strasburg is the way to go with the best odds of the day. Every number is in his favor against the Mets, from the seven innings he's pitched in all four starts to the 26 Ks in the last three. Even better is that the Mets are one of the worst teams against righties this season, highlighted by a .275 wOBA.

Matt Cain, SF vs. SD ($7,700): Putting all of your money into two pitchers could work, but Cain provides value at a cheaper rate. While he had a hamstring issue last time out, he looks set to build on his last three starts (18 IP, 2 ER). Going against the Padres, he's a decent favorite and something that could help his low strikeout total is that San Diego has a league-high 26.0 percent K rate against righties to go with a .291 wOBA.

CATCHER

Manny Pina, MIL vs. ATL ($2,800): Pina is having a great start to the season and should be in the lineup with a lefty on the mound. His .494 wOBA against lefties is only in 14 at-bats, so the selling point is Jaime Garcia's struggles against righties. In his 23.1 IP, 10 of his 11 ER have come against righties and he's allowing a .359 wOBA.

FIRST BASE

Anthony Rizzo, CHC at BOS ($5,300): I'll throw a little more money at Rizzo even though his early numbers show he's been better against lefties (.508 wOBA) than righties (.360 wOBA). His career numbers show the opposite and his 2017 stats will take some time to normalize. The reason to take him is because Steven Wright is on the mound, who has been roughed up a few times already this season. Wright has an early 5.16 xFIP and isn't striking anyone out with a 10.3 percent K rate.

SECOND BASE

Starlin Castro, NYY vs. BAL ($3,400): Castro is a bit cheaper in this game because he's going against a righty, but Ubaldo Jimenez can't be trusted. Either way, Castro has an early .416 wOBA and solid 16.9 percent K rate against righties. Jimenez is as inconsistent as ever as seen last time on the mound when he made it 3.1 innings. Jimenez has been worse against righties so far, allowing a .364 wOBA.

Jose Ramirez, CLE vs. SEA ($4,500): Ramirez's price is a bit juiced up, but it'll be worth it. He's been great against righties this season with a .360 ISO and .489 wOBA. He didn't have as much power last season, but still provided consistent offense (.351 wOBA). Yovani Gallardo had his first good outing of the season last time out, but Oakland and Cleveland are much different teams. Gallardo is still allowing a .347 wOBA to lefties, which carries over from last season's .349.

THIRD BASE

Chase Headley, NYY vs. BAL ($3,600): Only good things can be said about Headley against righties this season with a .241 ISO and .448 wOBA. At home, he's been better with a .318 ISO and .555 wOBA. And there's nothing wrong with piling on against Jimenez, who is matching what he did all last season, allowing a .378 wOBA with a 4.65 xFIP against lefties.

Mike Moustakas, KC vs. MIN ($3,100): Moustakas has been one of the lone bright spots on the Royals this season and the only time to use him is against righties (.432 wOBA). Kansas City was swept by Minnesota to open the season, but Phil Hughes didn't pitch in any of those games. Hughes has allowed 10 runs in his last three starts, isn't striking guys out (14.4 percent K rate) and has a poor 4.83 xFIP.

SHORTSTOP

Hernan Perez, MIL vs. ATL ($3,600): While Perez hasn't seen many lefties this season (15 at-bats), he's looked great with a .481 wOBA. That number won't stay that high, but he was still at .329 against lefties last season. Similar to the Pina situation, Perez is in a good spot against lefty Garcia, who is having issues against righties (4.65 xFIP).

OUTFIELD

Mookie Betts, BOS vs. CHC ($5,200): Betts has had more success against righties this season (.393 wOBA) and that should continue against John Lackey, who has conveniently been worse against righties (.338 wOBA, 20.4 percent K rate, 4.34 xFIP). This game has one of the highest totals of the day, so while Betts is expensive, he should be worth it.

Jason Heyward, CHC at BOS ($3,500): This is the second guy I'm on for the Cubs as this is a great matchup that should produce runs. Heyward has an early .375 wOBA and 10.4 percent K rate against righties and is set to do some damage with the rest of his team in hitter-friendly Fenway against Wright.

A.J. Pollock, ARI vs. COL ($4,500): The Diamondbacks face another lefty and that should prove helpful to Pollock in his home park. Pollock has a .401 wOBA and .375 ISO against lefties early on and gets Tyler Anderson, who is really struggling. Anderson is allowing a .400 wOBA to righties, giving up 14 runs in his 18.1 IP against them.
