ANALYSIS
Ash suffered a concussion in the season opener and had been held out of Texas' past two games due to lingering concussion symptoms. In his career, Ash played in 29 games and threw for 4,728 yards with 31 touchdowns. Tyrone Swoopes should continue to start at quarterback for the Longhorns.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2013
2012
After splitting snaps with Case McCoy as a freshman in 2011, Ash solidified his place as the Longhorns’ starting signal caller last season. He returns as the most experienced quarterback in the Big 12, coming off a year in which he threw for nearly 2,700 yards and 19 touchdowns. Texas returns 10 offensive starters, with receiver Marquise Goodwin being the only loss. Spring reports indicate the team wants to ramp up the tempo offensively, which could lead to more production from Ash in 2013.
Ash struggled as a freshman in a platoon with Case McCoy, throwing twice as many interceptions (eight) as touchdowns (four) in his first year in Austin. Despite that weak showing, a bowl game victory over California has Ash as the favorite to start for Texas in 2012. He will at the very least have two good receivers to throw to in Mike Davis and Jaxon Shipley, and the running back trio of Joe Bergeron, Malcolm Brown and Johnathan Gray should keep defenses honest. Ash's skills appear limited, however, so he seems a bit of a fantasy long shot.
