Bobby Rainey

2023 Fantasy Outlook
There was no outlook written for Bobby Rainey in 2023. Check out the latest news below for more on his current fantasy value.
November 14, 2011
Rainey was held to 85 yards on 28 carries Saturday in a blowout loss to top-ranked LSU.
ANALYSIS
Rainey entered the game averaging 138 rushing yards a game. Not surprisingly, he was held in check by LSU. The only other game in which Rainey failed to top 100 yards was against the stout Arkansas State defense earlier this season. Rainey hasn't found the end zone in the last two games and likely won't equal the 15 rushing touchdowns he had last season. However, in addition to his nine rushing scores this season he has three scores through the air (none last year) with two games to remaining on the schedule.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2011
2010
This might seem low for a player who ran for over 1,600 yards and scored 15 touchdowns a year ago, but it’s tough to see Rainey duplicating those numbers two years straight. Not only did Rainey set the bar extremely high, but listed (very) generously at 5-8, 205 pounds, it simply isn't a good idea for Rainey to go another season averaging 30.7 touches from scrimmage per game. If his touches don’t go down, the odds are that his production or durability (or both) will suffer for it.
The pieces are all in place for Rainey to put together one of the best running back performances nation-wide. Western Kentucky is switching to a more pro-style system this year, and Rainey will be the foundation that it's built upon. He avearged 6.52 yards per carry as a sophomore last year, running for 939 yards and six touchdowns. There's no one on the roster who can compete with him for carries, so look for Rainey's workload to be a big one. He'll give Dwight Dasher and Lance Dunbar heated competition for the title of 2010's best Sun Belt fantasy producer.
