Oregon: De'Anthony Thomas To Enter Draft
RBOregon
January 5, 2014
ANALYSIS
Thomas will forgo his senior season at Oregon in favor of the NFL, as the all-purpose threat will look to take his quick feet and evasiveness to the next level. During his junior year at Oregon, Thomas compiled 594 rushing yards on 96 carries (6.2 average) and 246 receiving yards on 22 receptions, to go along with eight total scores on offense. Thomas's absence will leave Byron Marshall and Thomas Tyner to carry the bulk of the workload in the Oregon backfield in 2014.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2012
2013
If it seems ridiculous that two Oregon runners are in the top 10, that's because it is. But it's not quite as it appears – Thomas isn't strictly a runner, but rather a running back/wide receiver hybrid who can post monstrous numbers without Barner leaving the field. Thomas' big-play ability is unrivaled – perhaps by any player in recent memory. He ran for 595 yards and seven touchdowns last year on just 55 carries (10.8 YPC) while adding 46 receptions for 605 yards and nine touchdowns (13.2 YPC) and two kickoff returns for touchdowns. With 16 touchdowns on a mere 101 touches from scrimmage as a true freshman last year, it's difficult to comprehend the height of Thomas' upside.
Thomas' numbers were slightly less ridiculous in 2012 as he averaged 'only' 7.6 yards per carry after torching opponents for 10.8 yards per carry as a freshman in 2011, but he still is fairly clearly the top open-field playmaker in the country. Even with a huge bullseye on him from the start of the season, Thomas took 92 carries for 701 yards and 11 touchdowns while catching 45 passes for 445 yards and five touchdowns. He also returned one touchdown each on kick and punt returns. Thomas could be a bit more active as a runner in 2013, because Oregon will have to replace Kenjon Barner, who accounted for 21.5 carries per game last year.
