Gus Ragland
QuarterbackQB
Miami (OH) Redhawks
2018 Fantasy Outlook
Ragland took a bit of a step back last season after showing major promise in 2016. His completion percentage dropped nearly 10 points, his yards-per-attempt dropped a full yard and he was more turnover prone overall. Is 2018's Ragland more the 2016 vintage that led Miami on a six-game winning streak to end the season, or is last year's disappointing campaign a more realistic baseline of expectation? The optimist would note that Ragland is entering his third year as the starter and add that he has one of the MAC's most dangerous receivers in James Gardner. The pessimist would argue that Ragland's 2016 showing was more a case of catching lightning in a bottle than a pure display of his talent. If you're betting on a bounce back and Ragland regains his 2016 levels of efficiency, the payoff could be significant, especially considering his draft day cost. Read Past Outlooks

2017 Fantasy Outlook
Ragland orchestrated one of the biggest turnarounds in the nation last season after missing the first six games as he recovered from a torn ACL suffered in spring practice. He took the helm on Oct. 15 against Kent State and went undefeated for the remainder of the regular season to take the RedHawks to a bowl game. Ragland’s offense averaged just under 30 points per game in his regular season starts, and he accounted for 17 total touchdowns (15 passing, 2 rushing) and zero interceptions during that run to the St. Petersburg Bowl. Now that Ragland’s a year further removed from his ACL injury with starting experience under his belt and a stud receiver in James Gardner at his disposal, he has a legitimate shot to be the second-best fantasy quarterback in the MAC behind Toledo’s Logan Woodside.
