Thomas was buried among a deep group of receivers and it was doubtful that he was going to receive many opportunities on offense. The Buffaloes lost four cornerbacks who transferred out after spring practices and desperately needed depth at the position. Thomas will now enter a group of corners that involves only three players who have appeared in a college football game. He is also one of four freshmen competing for playing time in the secondary.
