Walker announced May 29 via his personal Twitter account that he joined Southern Mississippi as a transfer from JUCO program Northwest Mississippi Community College.
ANALYSIS
Walker was the first of two transfer quarterbacks to join the Golden Eagles this offseason, with ex-West Virginia signal-caller Trey Lowe announcing later in the summer that he would head to Hattiesburg. Before his time in the JUCO ranks, Walker spent two years at Georgia State, completing two of three pass attempts for 14 yards. He'll be able to compete right away at Southern Miss while retaining two years of eligibility.
