Latest son of NFL great at FAU
WRFlorida Atlantic
June 11, 2019
Lewis announced Monday that he would transfer from Central Florida to Florida Atlantic, Jake Elman of The Palm Beach Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Lewis, the son of NFL Hall of Fame linebacker Ray Lewis, began his career at UCF as a walk-on defensive back in 2018 before transitioning to receiver this spring. The younger Lewis made an impression in UCF's spring game with four receptions for 101 yards, but he apparently wasn't satisfied with his playing-time outlook with the Knights and will head to FAU with his sights on earning a larger role as a slot receiver. Since Lewis intends to walk on at FAU, he'll be eligible immediately in 2019 with three years left. He'll become the third walk-on of an NFL great on the Owls' roster, joining defensive end Warren Sapp II and receiver Terique Owens (son of Terrell Owens).
