Jayawardene has decided to retire from Sri Lanka's international team.

Jayawardene's last appearance for Sri Lanka came during its exit from the World Cup against South Africa on Mar. 18 in the first quarterfinal. At 39 years old, Jayawardene still plans to compete elsewhere, and in fact, he most recently made an outing during Somerset's victory over Essex on Friday, although he scored just six runs over five balls faced.
