Heading back to Czech Republic

Musil inked a one-year deal with HC Ocelari Trinec of the Czech league Monday, Patrick Willis of NHL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Prior to heading to Canada to play in the WHL, Musil was a top prospect in the Czech Republic -- suiting up for the U18 and U20 national teams. Since his four appearances with Edmonton during the 2014-15 season, the blueliner has been unable to earn a call-up, instead spending his time exclusively in the AHL. Unless he can put together a stellar 2016-17 campaign, it seems unlikely the 24-year-old will be back on this side of the Atlantic Ocean any time soon.

Musil received his first taste of NHL life last season, but did little to prove to the team that he is anything more than a depth defenseman at the game's highest level. Look for him to spend the bulk of his time at AHL Bakersfield in 2015-16.
Musil has yet to distinguish himself among Oiler prospects. His first season in the AHL saw him deliver two goals, 10 assists and a minus-10 rating in 61 games. Still, a strong training camp for the defender could open some eyes, particularly with the Oilers' lack of quality defensemen. That being said, it seems likely he will spend this season in the AHL once again.
Musil is one of the top-10 prospects in the organization and could be close to NHL ready. His defensive game is solid and his offensive upside could have him in Edmonton on a full-time basis as soon as the 2013-14 season.
Musil was taken with the 51st pick of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He is your prototypical physical defenseman at 6-foot-4 and over 200 pounds, and is considered to be NHL-ready now. Moreover, Muslin could evolve into a shutdown defender with enough experience. He will attend training camp with the Oilers, but it wouldn't be a surprise if he begins the season in the AHL.
