LeBlanc was sent down by the Blackhawks to the AHL's Rockford IceHogs on Friday, NBC Chicago reports.

LeBlanc, who was the Hobey Baker Award winner in 2013, will try to do a better job at Rockford this season. He had a cup of coffee with the Blackhawks in 2012-13 season with two games and then collected seven goals and 15 assists in 76 games for Rockford last season.

The 2013 Hobey Baker Award winner played his first full season in professional hockey last season and delivered seven goals and 15 assists in 76 games with AHL Rockford. He will probably be in Rockford for the majority, if not the entire, of the 2014-15 season. It won't be for lack of talent, but instead the stacked deck with the big club, that keeps him in the A.

The 2013 Hobey Baker Award winner is probably ticketed for Rockford of the AHL, but has an outside shot at the last roster spot this fall. In his last season at St. Cloud State, he tallied 13 goals and 37 assists, and at 24 has the maturity to fit right in. But the Hawks are deep -- expect him to learn the pro ropes in the AHL this year.
