Past Fantasy Outlooks
This player will have no fantasy value in 2013-14 and can be ignored in all formats.
Greentree had a successful season in the AHL affiliate Hershey Bears system last year and at age 27 is not getting any younger. With 63 points in 74 games, he may get a shot at the NHL, but that is completely up to what happens with the regulars.
Greentree played in a few other organizations the last couple years and was successful at the AHL level last year. At 26, he will likely spend most of the season in AHL Hershey but has the chance to play in the NHL soon.
Greentree lead the Quad City Flames (AHL) in scoring last year with 76 points (39 G, 37 A) over 79 games. He will start the year with the Abbotsford Heat (AHL) but should be on a short list to get called up if injuries hit the Flames' roster. Keep him on your radar because he has obvious offensive potential, he is just lacking an opportunity.
Greentree was traded to the Flames for Tim Ramholt in June, and looks to make the team in the fall and add to his two career NHL games. He will be among a handful of wingers vying for a wide-open competition for spots on the third and fourth lines on Calgary. Even if he makes the team, however, he needs another year or two to have any sort of fantasy impact.
