ANALYSIS
Schneider was a long shot to make the Canucks' roster out of camp. The 21-year-old managed just four points in 47 games with Manitoba of the AHL last season. He projects as a fourth-line grinder once he does make it to the big pond.

After suffering a broken hand during training camp, Schneider was limited to just 46 games with Chicago of the AHL last season. He finished the abbreviated campaign with four goals and five assists and, while he doesn’t offer much in the scoring department, Schneider is a big (6-4, 199) physical presence who plays steady in the defensive zone. He’ll turn 23 during the 2012-13 season, and there’s a chance he could make his debut with the Canucks this year, but he’s primarily organizational depth at this stage of his career.
Schneider totaled a lackluster four points in 47 games during his AHL debut with Manitoba last season. The 21-year-old is a former defenseman who has been converted to center. He'll never pile up big point production, but Schneider has the size (6-4, 199) to be a physical presence on the fourth line.
