Acolatse is a native to the Bay Area of California, so it’s fitting that San Jose signed the talented young defenseman to an entry-level contract last March. The 20-year-old spent parts of the past five seasons in the WHL, most recently with the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League, tallying 63 points (15 G, 48 A) and 128 penalty minutes in 66 games. Last season he made his professional debut with AHL Worcester, the Sharks’ minor league affiliate, where he is likely to continue developing this season.
