Tyrvainen played his first season on North Amercia last year, totaling six goals, 13 assists and 71 PIMs in 71 games for Oklahoms City of the AHL. In Europe, he was known for his physcial play which he seemed to dial back a bit last year. He'll need to turn that part of his game back up to make his mark in the NHL. He'll get another shot to do just that in the AHL this year.
Tyrvainen has been playing the last three seasons in Finland, amassing 22 goals in 89 games. Physicality is his main forte as he has collected 271 PIMs over that timeframe. He plays the game with some aggression but unless he can light the lamp more often, or develop a secondary skill, he will have a tough time making the Oilers' roster.
