Aleksi Saarela
22-Year-Old CenterC
2018 Fantasy Outlook
Saarela was impressive in his first full season at AHL Charlotte last season, ranking third on the team in goals with 25, and seventh in overall points with 43. Prior to last year, he was playing in the SM-liiga, Finland's top league, where he notched 77 points (including 42 goals) in 166 games over five seasons. Whether his sniper's skills can translate to the NHL game remains to be seen, but either way, he will likely need to spend at least one more year in the AHL before we can see what he can do at the NHL level.
