DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

There are 10 games in the NHL on Tuesday, so it won't be difficult to differentiate your selections for tournaments. Here are a handful of options across multiple price points to consider while assembling your DraftKings lineups.

GOALIE

Henrik Lundqvist, NYR vs. CHI ($7,800): During Jonathan Toews' (back) nine-game absence, the Blackhawks are averaging just 1.97 goals per 60 minutes, which is the third-lowest total among all teams over that stretch. Lundqvist is struggling to hit his stride (.912 save percentage and 2.55 GAA), but this is a potential rebound spot, and the salary is more than reasonable. If Antti Raanta ($7,700) receives the starting nod, he's an easy pivot given that he's won three straight games with just one goal allowed on 63 shots.

CENTER

Henrik Zetterberg, DET vs. ARI ($5,900): The Coyotes allowed seven goals Monday, and have surrendered a league-high 13.62 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes and 3.18 goals per game. Zetterberg is quietly having another solid campaign with 16 points and 44 shots over his past 20 games, while averaging 19:45 of ice per night and 3:00 on the power play.

Victor Rask, CAR vs. VAN ($5,800): With 11 points, 42 shots and 18:45 of ice time (2:00 on the power play) per night over his past 16 games, Rask continues to be a solid fantasy asset. His 2.35 points per 60 minutes also rank 30th among all skaters with at least 500 minutes this year. Vancouver checks out as a target-worthy matchup too, as the Canucks are playing the final leg of a five-game road trip.

WING

Joe Pavelski, SAN at TOR ($7,400): Toronto allows the fourth most scoring chances per 60 minutes in the league (29.15), and Pavelski has a solid 11 points through his past 12 outings while receiving top offensive minutes in all situations. Plus, his 2.75 points per 60 minutes over the past four years rank ninth among all skaters with at least 5,000 minutes played.

Jason Spezza, DAL vs. ANA ($5,600): Dallas has loaded up their top line, and Spezza is skating with Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn in all situations. The Benn-Seguin-Spezza unit has combined for 21.21 scoring chances per 60 minutes over the past three years, and during that stretch, all three rank within the top 12 in points per 60 minutes among players with at least 3,000 minutes played.

Jakub Vrana, WAS at NYI ($3,900): While he hasn't exploded out of the gate offensively, Vrana remains a viable low-priced flier. He's scored 25 goals and 55 points through 57 career AHL games, and the 20-year-old winger is receiving some power-play time. Plus, the Islanders are allowing a league-high 32.84 scoring chances per 60 minutes.

DEFENSE

Brent Burns, SAN at TOR ($8,600): Finding a way to fit Burns under the salary cap is advisable Tuesday. As noted, the Maple Leafs are allowing plenty of scoring chances (29.15 per 60 minutes), and Burns has six goals, 11 points and 40 shots over his past 10 games. Additionally, his 2.12 points per 60 minutes pace all defensemen with at least 200 minutes over the past two seasons.

Jaccob Slavin, CAR vs. VAN ($3,900): As noted, this is a cushy spot for Carolina, and Slavin presents a modest fantasy floor because of his hefty role. The sophomore has averaged 25:32 of ice time and 1:40 with the man advantage over his past eight games, and during the span, Slavin has four helpers, 10 shots and 21 blocked shots.
