FantasyDraft NHL: Wednesday Values

FantasyDraft NHL: Wednesday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

November is here. Hopefully your daily fantasy hockey lineups were a success in October, but also hopefully November will be even better. There are five NHL games Wednesday, and here are some players I think you should strongly consider.

GOALIE

San Jose Sharks, SAN vs. NAS ($16,500): Nashville's offense has struggled this year, as the Predators have only scored 2.45 goals per game and tallied 29.8 shots on net per contest. The Sharks, meanwhile, have allowed a mere 28.7 shots on net per tilt, fewest in the NHL. Throw in San Jose being at home and it seems like a good opportunity for the Sharks.

CENTER

Claude Giroux, PHI at CHI ($14,000): Giroux is off to a hot start with 14 points (four on the power play) through 12 games. He's always been a power-play threat, and he's had at least 27 power-play points in his last four seasons. Chicago surprisingly ranked only 24th in penalty-kill percentage last year, and they've been in the bottom 10 in shots allowed per game dating back to last season.

Bo Horvat, VAN vs. NJD ($8,700): The Devils struggled defensively last season, as they had a team GAA of 2.94 and allowed 31.4 shots on net per game. They have been even worse this year, with a team GAA of 3.10 while they give up 34.2 shots on goal per contest. Horvat is Vancouver's top offensive player now, and that includes an increased amount of power-play time. He's averaged 3:01 per game with the extra man, and he's tallied three power-play points.

WING

Jakob Silfverberg, ANA vs. TOR ($11,800): Silfverberg only has one goal this season, but that's on 36 shots on net. That means he's currently sporting a 2.8 shooting percentage which is destined to improve. This could be the night. After all, the Maple Leafs have a team save percentage of .893 and have allowed 33.4 shots on goal per contest.

James van Riemsdyk, TOR at ANA ($11,500): The Ducks have surprisingly allowed 34.7 shots on net per game this season. That could bode well for JVR, who has 36 shots on goal through 11 games. He also already has five points on the power play, which means van Riemsdyk could add some nice value with the extra man.

Milan Lucic, EDM vs. PIT ($9,900) Lucic has started 60.5 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, and he's averaged 3:09 per game in power-play time. He doesn't have a point with the extra man yet, but he had 25 power-play points last season so that will surely change. Pittsburgh has struggled defensively thus far, as the Penguins have a team GAA of 3.85.

DEFENSE

Oscar Klefbom, EDM vs. PIT ($9,900): Klefbom doesn't have a goal yet, but he's put 34 shots on goal in 10 games, so that will likely change. To that point, he had 12 goals last season. As previously noted, the Penguins have a team GAA of 3.85, and last season Pittsburgh allowed 32.6 shots on net per contest. Additionally, Klefbom has 27 blocked shots, so he can add a little fantasy value on that end as well.

Brandon Montour, ANA vs. TOR ($9,800): Montour has averaged 21:26 in ice time, and he's started 54.1 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone. He's also played 2:39 per game on the power play, netting threw points with the extra man. Toronto has a team GAA of 3.58 and it has given up 33.4 shots on net per contest.
