The Tuesday NHL slate is an interesting one with a lot to look at. There are a few teams playing for the second night in a row while some are coming off quite a few days rest. Here's some players to consider…
Goalie
Mike Smith, CGY vs VAN ($8,400): Smith looked a bit rocky in his last start against the Devils, who — in his defense — lead the league in goals per game on the road. He was able to escape with a win, his third straight. He's in a good spot to win again against a team he bested on Oct. 14.
Center
Jonathan Drouin, MTL vs VGK ($6,000): Drouin is a value in my book as the 12th highest-priced center on Tuesday's slate. He has points in four of his last five games and is in a good matchup against a Vegas team that just played last night in a shootout loss in Toronto.
Mathew Barzal, NYI vs EDM ($4,000): Barzal has impressed with points in eight of his last nine games. The rookie has a goal and six assists in his last three contests and is seeing solid minutes on the second line with Jordan Eberle and Andrew Ladd.
Wing
Conor Sheary, PIT vs ARI ($5,400): Sheary is a top value option as long as he is skating on Sidney Crosby's line. The Coyotes are allowing the most goals per game in the league and just played last night in Washington, where they lost in overtime. Sheary doesn't see a ton of minutes, but he's productive and making the most of his ice time.
Josh Bailey, NYI vs EDM ($5,100): Bailey is as hot as any player in hockey right now in this price range with points in each of his last nine games. The production has come as a result of moving up to the first line with John Tavares and Anders Lee. He skates with them on the power play, as well, where he has seven points in such situations.
Evgeny Dadonov, FLA at CAR ($5,300): Dadonov is still a bargain but has cooled off a bit over the last few games. He's still slotted on the top line for Florida with Aleksander Barkov and Jonathan Huberdeau, as well as skating with them on the power play. Combining the three makes for a high-upside line stack as they have combined 10 goals, the fourth most in the NHL.
Defense
Justin Faulk, CAR vs FLA ($4,800): Faulk is underpriced because he hasn't gotten his offensive game to hit full stride yet. He has just one goal and two assists in the Hurricanes' first 12 games. He is averaging over three shots on goal per game, which makes me confident that production is coming. The Panthers have allowed the eighth most fantasy points to defensemen.
Oscar Klefbom, EDM at NYI ($5,600): I'm on Klefbom a lot, much like Jacob Trouba from Winnipeg due to salary, situation, and steadiness. Klefbom had his first goal two games ago and has just two assists on the season. That said, he's still averaging nearly 12 FanDuel points per game due to a high volume of shots on goal and blocked shots.
