FanDuel NHL: Monday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Goalie

Jaroslav Halak, NYI at MTL ($7,600): Halak should get plenty of offensive support with the Islanders averaging the second most goals per game. Halak has been a very volatile goalie throughout his career, making him primarily a tournament option. The Canadiens average the third lowest goals-per-game mark in the league with an average of 2.53, making Halak the best value between the pipes Monday.

Center

Mathew Barzal, NYI at MTL ($5,600): Barzal has two goals and five assists in his last two games, as his tremendous rookie season continues. He has 15 goals and 29 assists on the campaign with 14 power-play points. He's anchoring the second line and manning one of the points on the top power-play unit for the Islanders, who are second in the NHL with 3.41 goals per game.

Ryan Kesler, ANH at COL ($5,700): After missing most of the season due to injury, Kesler has been back for seven games and has goals in two of his last three contests. At $5,700, Kesler provides a nice pivot option from teammate Ryan Getzlaf who is priced up at $7,400. The second-line center for the Ducks sees time on the power-play and has four points in his last four games against the Avalanche.

Wing

Tyler Toffoli, LA vs SJ ($5,900): The Sharks have been a good defensive team this season but have struggled with right wings recently. Over the last four weeks, they've allowed 13 goals and nine assists to the position. Toffoli is an aggressive shooter with an average of 3.16 shots on goal per game and 18 goals — five on the power play — this season. He has two goals and three assists in his last five games and should be in for a productive night.

Jake DeBrusk, BOS vs DAL ($4,300): The 20-year-old DeBrusk is just another rookie that has made an impression this season. He has 10 goals and 13 assists in 37 games with the Bruins. He's been skating on the second line for the majority of his time and has points in three straight games with two goals and two assists over that span.

Anders Lee, NYI at MON ($6,700): Lee has 25 goals, seven of which have come on the power play, with 15 assists in 44 games. He has four points in his last six games against Montreal, which has allowed 3.05 goals against per game. He sees a major bump in upside skating with John Tavares.

Defense

Jeff Petry, MTL vs NYI ($3,600): Petry has points in back-to-back games and has seen over 22 minutes of ice time in each of his last four. The Islanders have been destroyed by defensemen over their last four weeks, allowing the most fantasy points to the position over an 11-game stretch.

Cam Fowler, ANH at COL ($5,300): Prior to a pair of pointless showings, Fowler had points in four of six games with three goals and two assists over that span. Fowler sees a favorable matchup in this spot against the Avalanche, which has allowed the fifth most fantasy points to the defensemen this year.
