FantasyDraft NHL: Monday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

GOALIE

Toronto Maple Leafs, TOR vs. ANA ($16,100): The Ducks have only scored 2.72 goals per game and 30.1 shots on net per contest. Though the Maple Leafs have had some issues with allowing shots, that will be less of an issue against Anaheim, especially since Toronto is at home. Frederik Andersen has played well this year, as he has a 2.62 GAA and a .921 save percentage.

CENTER

Brayden Point, TAM at EDM ($12,500): Point has tallied 20 goals and 26 assists in 52 games. He has 10 points in his last 10 contests, tallying 29 shots on net in that time. The Oilers have a 3.20 team GAA, which is tied for fifth worst in the NHL. Edmonton also has the worst penalty kill in the league, and though Point only has seven power-play points, this is still a small point in his favor.

Ryan Johansen, NAS at NYI ($11,500): Johansen has had some struggles this year, but he has six assists in his last five tilts. He's also been successful with the extra man with 12 power-play points in 47 games. The Islanders are only slightly better on the penalty kill than the Oilers, ranking 30th. However, they are dead last in team GAA, with a staggeringly high 3.60 in that category.

WING

Jamie Benn, DAL vs. NYR ($14,700): Been has averaged 15.41 fantasy points per game, which is the second most among wings in action Monday. He's having another stellar season with 21 goals and 28 assists in 53 games, including 15 with the extra man. The Rangers have been really struggling recently, and Henrik Lundqvist has a 3.64 GAA and a .891 save percentage in his last nine outings. New York has also given up 33.7 shots on net per tilt.

Craig Smith, NAS at NYI ($10,900): Smith has a point in his last three points, and overall he has 16 goals on 142 shots through 49 games. On top of that, the 28-year-old has notched seven of those goals with the extra man. That's good heading into this matchup, as the Islanders have the 30th-ranked penalty kill. Of course, it's their woeful 3.60 team GAA that makes Smith a particularly intriguing option.

Yanni Gourde, TAM at EDM ($8,700): Gourde has been a fine under-the-radar rookie, as he's notched 18 goals and 18 assists in 52 games. That includes six points (four goals and two assists) in his last six contests. The Oilers have a 3.20 team GAA, and on top of that they have a .896 team save percentage.

DEFENSEMEN

P.K. Subban, NAS at NYI ($11,400): Subban has averaged 3:18 per game with the extra man, and he's tallied a whopping 18 power-play points in 50 games. In addition to all their other defensive problems, New York has allowed 35.4 shots on net per game, most in the NHL. Subban should be able to get a few pucks on net.

Esa Lindell, DAL vs. NYR ($7,700): The Rangers have a lousy 3.48 team GAA on the road and have allowed a whopping 36.8 shots on net away from Madison Square Garden. Beyond that, in January they had a 3.67 team GAA. That makes this a great matchup for Lindell, who comes at a rather reasonable price.
