FanDuel NHL: Sunday Playoff Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Sunday Playoff Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

On Sunday, we have three Game 3's and one Game 2, making for an exciting slate for hockey fans. As for you daily fantasy hockey enthusiasts out there, here are some players I recommend for your lineup.

GOALIE

Devan Dubnyk, MIN vs. WPG ($8,200): The Jets have been a high-scoring team, but on the road, they ranked 13th in goals per game (2.85). That's not bad, but it is certainly a step down from their form at home. Meanwhile, the Wild had a 2.17 GAA at home, which was actually the best in the league. Maybe Dubnyk will help turn the tides for Minnesota.

CENTER

Evgeny Kuznetsov, WAS vs. CLM ($7,800): Kuznetsov has been on absolute fire recently. He has a 12-game point streak wherein he's tallied a whopping 21 points, with 10 points on the power play. The Russian's extra-man success is encouraging in this matchup, as the Blue Jackets had the 26th-ranked penalty kill.

Nolan Patrick, PHI vs. PIT ($4,700): Playoff series tend to filled with low-scoring and close games. The Penguins-Flyers series has featured a team scoring seven goals in a game and the other scoring five in another contest. This seems to be the series to find fantasy points. Patrick, the second overall pick in 2017, has six points in his last six games. It's also encouraging that he's averaged 3:54 per game with the extra man in this series.

WING

Jakub Voracek, PHI vs. PIT ($6,700): Voracek has six points in his last six games, and this year he had 85 points (including 35 on the power play). The Penguins had a 3.37 GAA on the road, which was tied for sixth highest in the NHL. They also had the 17th-ranked penalty kill, which won't threaten Voracek.

Dustin Brown, LOS vs. VGK ($6,100): Brown enjoyed a bounce-back season wherein he notched 28 goals on 222 shots while adding 33 assists. Additionally, in his last five games, he's tallied five goals on 21 shots. While the Golden Knights were strong defensively at home, they had a 3.00 GAA on the road. That's not bad, but it sits in the middle of the pack.

Jake Guentzel, PIT at PHI ($5,600): Guentzel, who skates alongside Sidney Crosby on Pittsburgh's top line, notched 22 goals this season. He also tallied four points in Game 1 of this series. Brian Elliott had a .909 save percentage, and in four games since returning from injury, his save percentage is .903. On top of that, the Flyers, had the 29th-ranked penalty kill, and Guentzel registered 12 points with the extra man this year.

DEFENSEMEN

John Carlson, WAS vs. CLM ($6,100): Carlson had an amazing season, tallying 15 goals and 53 assists in 82 games. He also averaged 3:42 per game with the extra man and tallied 32 power-play points. On top of that, the defenseman opened this series with three assists in Game 1. The Blue Jackets had a 3.15 GAA on the road, and as previously mentioned, they had the 26th-ranked penalty kill as well.

Justin Schultz, PIT at PHI ($4,900): Schultz has a four-game point streak, and this series has been quite good to him thus far. In addition to having an assist in both games, he's notched eight shots on net and averaged 5:25 per game on the power play. In fact, over his last nine games, he's averaged 3:51 a night with the extra man. That's a plus in a matchup with a team that carried the 29th-ranked penalty kill during the regular season.
